Ananya has to have proof that she is ananya and she is alive to actually send him the notice. You cant fool around with law. Once the notice is sent nikhil has certain amount of time to reply depends on the county. None of this is shown. I guess the writers should take a law course to make the show look right. And ohh yaa I am not an attorney but I work in the same field.
