Chapter 8
Taani looked at Rey. For a minute they had an intense eye-lock. It seemed every pain they were feeling during their separation was conveyed. But suddenly Taani started her car and said coldly , " Since Bhai is gettin' his car, you all can go with him. I'm leaving then."
And then she drove away with a dangerously high speed.
Rey, Swayam and Sharon reached the venue, and greeted everyone. In an aloof corner, Rey excused himself and sat down. His thought wandered back to Taani, as usual. He had no idea of what to do. He wanted her back, for sure. That was the one and only thing he was sure of. Everything in his life seemed to fall apart. Nothing was right except for the very fact that Taani was back in his life. The loud music caused irritation, but he shrugged it off.
Taani, was very much the love of his life. LOVE. A mere 4 lettered word. But, Taani brought meaning and definition to it. She was the one to break down his shields, unknowingly and then teach him how to love. She had become the mere reason of his existence. When they were apart, just the thought that one random day he might meet her again would bring smile on his face. He hoped, because that was all he had. After loosing so much in life, he still prayed and hoped. HOPE.

This was the thought that would come across his mind. His sacrifice would somehow benefit her. That's what love is all about, right?
He shrugged all his thoughts, when Shanaya walked upto him and dragged a reluctant Rey to the dance floor.
After an hour or so, Taani reached the venue. She looked herself for one last time and found the scar on her wrist visible. She wished no one would notice it, for that's all she longed for these day. Not to be noticed. Not to be seen. To fly away. Away from the pain. To find solace. Hope, that one day she possibly might be happy. This very thought kept her alive. The scar on her wrist was a fresh one. It was now her habit.
Keeping the thoughts aside, she prepared herself to meet the world. With the new strength, she walked into the venue.
Guys, turned their heads to see this wild hot chick.

But she, was never interested in anyone but.. Nevermind. Its too obvious to know.
He would be hers interest always. She could not think of anyone else, other that him. She, no matter how hard she tried, could never deny it. Nonetheless, she was angry on him. Neither could she deny this as well.
" So the sexy beast is here." Shanaya said.
" Yes, my tigress." Taani replied.
" Did you cut yourself again? " Shanaya asked referring to Taani's habit of cutting herself. She would do it, to numb herself from the pain. Her wrist were full of new cuts.
" I'm addicted to it." Taani replied.
" You shouldn't do that, Taani. See-" Shanaya began.
" Don't. You know I can't stop. Its hurts only for a moment then it numbs me. Its my best therapy." Taani answered.
" But Taani-" Shanaya started to say when Taani interrupted.
" Not now, Shanaya. We'll talk but later on. Now, its time to party. " Taani replied diverting the topic for she didn't want to talk about it.
" Fine." Shanaya said forcefully. She wanted Taani to stop this habit of hers. She knew Taani was going through immense pain and Life was not fair to her, but suicide was never an option. For her, suicide not only kills you but the opportunity to improve yourself. Moreover, she knew Taani would never kill herself. But as they say, That's the thing about pain. It demands to be felt.
Pain, was one thing Taani knew too well. A long-relationship with pain. Sighing, she made her way to the bar. She had some drinks, mainly vodka shots when Shanaya came up to her and reminded her of the dance Taani promised she would do.
The song started. Two young girls, Shanaya and Taani were spotted on the top of the dance floor.

They swayed their hips in a seductive manner, and seeing Taani like that made Rey gulp a few drinks to calm his sinful thoughts down.

He was all set to make her his ONE and ONLY, but only she wasn't ready. Damn ! Why do things in life have to be so complicated?
Nevermind. Taani dancing in a seductive manner was something Rey was even scared of. He was unsure of his own controlling capability.
Only her mere sight, would invoke lustful desires in him. No one except him, knew how much this dance was affecting him.

Taani smirked lip singing the line.

That was so her. She was always the possessive types, who believed if things belonged to her, it did. No one could intervene. Sharing was never her forte.
Tragedy of life, Taani smiled sadly. The one thing she never wanted to, was the thing she had to do, without being able to do anything about it. She had to share Rey with Kriya, the one person she hated the most. The one person whom she would rip apart on sight.

Tragedy of life, she smiled again. She got Rey, whom was himself unsure of his love towards her, for that's what she thought.

By the end of the dance, Rey was already hard, and sloshed. Drunk, he sat there adoring this creature called Taani. Uniquely made, she was one of her own kind. Her angelic face adorned with a complexion that would make people's heart skip a beat and a pair of innocent eyes that could make you go weak on your knees. Her petite figure with curves adding to its beauty, was something Rey couldn't stand. He knew that Taani was oblivious to how beautiful and charming she was, and more to the fact that the effect she had on him.
The object of his interest, however was unaware of his state and was smiling and chattering non-stop to Shanaya. After years, he had seen her laugh wholeheartedly, and it made him smile and rejoice. But, somewhere he knew he wasn't the reason of it.
The party went well, except for the fact that a drunk Rey had dragged a shocked and a reluctant Taani from the party.
" Leave.Me." Taani repeated a little louder this time. She had a few drinks, but she wasn't as sloshed as Rey was.
" Not.. Waitt.. Not until you listen to what I have to say." Said a drunk Rey. His head was spinning wildly, but he managed to stay awake for Taani.
" As if there's something left for you to say." She mocked him with a sarcastic tone.
" Yes.Yes. There is. " Rey replied, hurt with her reply.
" What? Say then 'cuz I don't have all day." Taani hissed.
A drunk Rey, was now vulnerable. Eager to find emotional solace and his Taani back, He decided to tell her the truth. Making himself focus, he started, " Taani, I had made a sacrifice. For you. So that I could bring the ambition back in you. I wanted to see you prosper in your career. It was part of the plan.. Everything. Kriya. The fake breakup. I've always loved you, Taani. ALWAYS."
As soon as he said it, he soon regretted it.

I'm having trouble to cope up with studies because I have my exams. So, I'll be updating rarely. However this will go on only till the 18th of January. After that, I'll be regular to IF before my 2nd term examinations.
