CHAPTER-21.

Astha had her eyes closed,at the sudden impact..Not understanding what had happened at first until a slow warmth crept up her body,and her sensitive nerves started tingling at the places in contact with a hard male and nearly naked body..

Taking in a steadying breath,she opened her eyes,and looked into deep dark concerned eyes..

"Are you alright Astha?"The magical husky voice asked..

Am I alright?Astha thought dazedly,lying quite comfortably within the comfort of his strong male arms..Where she could smell his musky scent..

She took in another long breath..

"Astha?!Are you alright?"He gently shook her,the movement pierced her foggy thoughts.

She finally nodded her head in affirmative,and tried to pull herself away from his hold,when she realized he was not letting her go.

With a questioning frown she looked up at him,and her eyes widened at seeing his determined expression..

"Are you sure you are fine?"This time he whispered out his question huskily.

"Yes.Yes I'm fine..Now let me go-.."She tried to set herself free but failed once again.

"But how can I be sure that you.. are ..alright..?"

"WHAT?!What kind of a question is that?!"She seethed out as she tried harder to push him away or pull herself free..

Unfortunately for her none of the methods were working,as she was trying to avoid touching him and his hair roughened male,completely exposed skin,at the same time.

Uff the man!Couldn't he be more decent and wear something?!Why did he have to calm out half naked from the bathroom?!She thought unsuccessfully as her hand brushed against his hair roughened chest once again..

Shlok closed his eyes as heat flared through his nerves and his body tightened with desire at the close proximity,added with that her squirming was increasing his desire for her..His need for her was getting heightened by each passing second..

Let her go Shlok!His inner voice called out,but Shlok was not ready to listen to it yet.

He pushed Astha against a wall,and locked her arms to prevent her squirming..

"Can you prove that you are okay..?"Hs voice sounded strange even to his own ears.

This time Astha stared daggers at him,but Shlok had something else in his mind..

He brought his face down to her level,and looked closely into her eyes..

"Can you Astha..?"

Shlok could feel her warm breath mingling with his and that added to his already heightened desire.

As he got closer to her,a drop of water fell on her throat from his wet hair,which made Astha gasp out..

Shlok did not miss it..He first followed the water drop's journey down her throat,and then looking deeply into her eyes,he got closer,and then before she could react lowered his mouth,and licked the drop of water away with his tongue..His tongue followed the same path taken by the drop of water..

This time Astha's gasp was louder..

Shlok was losing control on himself,he realised,as he stood straight..He looked into her eyes again,and this time his eyes clearly reflected his need and desire..

"Prove to me you are okay.."He whispered huskily,his eyes moving to her soft parted lips.As if caressing them..

Suddenly he let go of her arms.But Astha still stood there as if transfixed by his dark eyes..

"Prove to me Astha.."He urged her again,coming yet closer to her..

His warm breath mingling with hers..His chest brushing against her bodice..His eyes again looking into hers..

"Hh-..How?"Astha managed to whisper in a dazed voice,completely lost in the moment..Completely lost in those dark mysterious eyes.

He came closer once more..His lips nearly brushing with hers..

"Run..Prove to me you are okay and run..Run Astha.."He whispered,taking her aback.

"Run for your life..Before I lose my control..RUN!"He urged firmly,and Astha did just that.

Pushing him away,she ran out of the room..

A silent Shlok locked his bed room door and with shaking hands he took out his dress for the meeting..

"I won't spoil your life Astha..Like I spoiled Sneha's..Like I killed her..You are better off without me..Safe in your hatred for me.Whatever the reason might be..You are better off hating me..And staying away from me.."Shlok said in a shaky voice..His face a mask of endless raw pain,regret and frustration..

A silent and confused Astha sat beside an even calmer and stony faced Shlok Agnihotri,as they drove back towards the office from the meeting with the foreign client.

Stealthily she peeked at his harsh profile again,but no change was observed by her..

Astha felt she was seeing a completely new Shlok Agnihotri..Not the one that had teased,joked and kissed her..

Her face colored up remembering the kisses,and quickly she tried to forget it..

After she had ran out of the room,she had ran out onto the road..There she had stood confused as to what to do next,when within minutes Shlok's car had stopped infront of her,and a completely polite Shlok had asked her to get in the car,as they were getting late for the meeting.

And for the second time that day,Astha had silently complied without protest.

Till then she had only been seeing a strange Shlok Agnihotri..Atleast ot the side she had seen till now..

Biting her bottom lip,she peeped a look at him again.

"Do you want to ask me something?"He asked,startling her..His eyes were however still on the road..

She had not known he was noticing her looking at him..

"Nn..No..Nothing.."She stammered out,quickly turning to face the window,embarrassed at being caught looking at him.

"I'm sorry for everything that happened between us..And from now on,I'll make sure you do not face any problem due to me..You can work for me without any worry or problem from my side from now on.."He finished softly,surprising her afresh.

She stared at him open mouthed for a while until the car stopped..

They were at the office she realized gulping down her questions and curiosity at his sudden change.

The entire day passed with no incident at all..Astha was bored stiff..

Astha suddenly felt she was missing his teasing self strangely enough..

Have you gone crazy Astha?!She scolded herself as she headed for the coffee machine..Did you forget how loathsome that man is?!That he is the biggest scoundrel around?!How could you be so dumb Astha?!

By this time she had reached the room having the coffee machine,and had poured coffee into the mug for Shlok.She was so engrossed in her thoughts,she hardly noticed a guy following her into the room stealthily..

As Astha set aside Shlok's mug,and was busy looking for the biscuit he had specifically asked for,the guy poured something from a bottle into the coffee,completely unnoticed by Astha..

By the time Astha had found the packet of biscuit,the guy had already left..

The man walked out of the office building,and as he rounded the second corner,he took out his phone..

He dialed a number.

"Your job is done..I've added the poison in his coffee.."

"Yes..The girl will be framed for his murder.."The man gave an ugly cackle and kept the phone back in his pocket..

"Sir..Here is your coffee and biscuit.."Astha placed the steaming cup of coffee and biscuit infront of him..

"Hmmm..Thank you Astha..You may leave now.."Shlok replied without taking his eyes off the laptop,much to Astha's irritation.

A confused and frustrated Astha turned to leave as Shlok picked up the coffee mug to take a sip from it..
