Blood!So much blood!Then the blood level started increasing..It had rose uptill his knee,when out of terrified eyes he noticed the broken figure had stood up..It had its arm extended towards him.Arms that were only bones and dripping blood..Dark red blood..
TIP TOP!TIP TOP!TIP TOP!
He could clearly hear the falling drops of blood..
"SHLOK..!"The figure screeched out..
The blood level was rising..He was getting drowned in the river of blood..
Shlok could not move..He could not walk forward or go back..The figure was coming nearer and nearer..
Its face was becoming clearer as it came closer..He could not see the face..It was covered in blood and completely damaged..The dark hair locks were matted with blood too..
"Shlok.."The figure was now reaching for him..
Out of terrified eyes Shlok noticed the dark red blood drenched skeletal hand getting ready to grab his arm..
"SHLOK!!!"
A hard shove brought Shlok back to the reality..Gasping he sat up on his bed..His brows and face and drenched in sweat..
"Shlok beta!What's wrong?!Did you have a nightmare?!"Anjali's soft voice made Shlok face her,with rounded terrified eyes..
The last trace of the nightmare had not faded away yet..
"Shlok beta?!Are you alright?!"Anjali asked in a worried voice,gently cupping his cheek..
The touch of her hand made Shlok realise what was happening and he instantly pushed her hand away..
"DON"T TOUCH ME!JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"Shlok screamed out in a raspy voice,and walked out of the room.
A helpless Anjali stood by his bed,staring at his back helplessly,her eyes glittering with unshed tears..
Shlok closed the door of his study shut tight..
The clock struck two times..It was two am of morning,he realised..
He needed to be alone..He needed to forget..He needed to drink again to forget that night..The night it happened,as he could not give up his desire calls for the unknown masked girl..And let her walk away alone..The night he had not cared enough..
He opened the cork of the wine bottle,and drank directly from it..
The bitter taste,started spreading like balm through his strained nerves..
He leaned back on his chair and sighed out..He was escaping to oblivion again...
KNOCK!KNOCK!
Shlok groaned out at the sound..His head was throbbing like crazy..
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!!!
"Who died?!!Why are you banging on the door like this?!"He snapped out irritatedly.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!!!
Some more knocking irked him some more in response..Increasing his headache..
Angrily Shlok got up and opened the door,ready to snap at the person..
On opening the door,as he opened his mouth to snap,his mouth formed an O of astonishment instead..
Before he could react or respond,he was being pulled out of the study towards his room,and then was pushed into his bathroom..
"What..-?!"He was about to ask in puzzlement,when he was interrupted.
"You have exactly twenty minutes to shower and get ready..After that you have an urgent meeting with our client from U.S.A...Your time starts now.."Astha said in an icy cold voice,her eyes clearly looking at him with utter disgust at his dishevelled and hung over state..
Suddenly feeling guilty like a small kid being scolded for his naughtiness,Shlok quietly complied and went into the bathroom,for that much needed shower..
Anjali,who had allowed Astha to wake Shlok herself,stood at Shlok's slightly ajar door..
She observed Astha's scolding Shlok,with a small smile at the corner of her lips.She was right..The moment the girl had asked for Shlok,declaring she was Shlok's new assistant,Anjalii had decided Shlok needed some medicine from his fuming assistant..
She was right..
Hence she had directed Astha towards the study..
Shlok will awake for good by now,she smiled naughtily,as she left for the kitchen..
Shlok was awake for good,as the cold water of the shower splashed onto him..
He could not believe he was woken up by Astha..An enraged Astha that is..
He leisurely let the water pour down his body..The numbing water reducing his headache..By now he was sure,Astha was part of his dream too..
That girl always avoided him like the plague.She could not be here,Shlok decided with a chuckle,as he scrubbed himself clean with the soap..He and his stupid dream..
Tying the towel round his waist,he got out of the bathroom to get ready for his office..He had a long day ahead..
He was halfway towards the wardrobe,when he heard a startled squeak..
Astha who had been standing looking out the window,squeaked at seeing his nearly naked state,and simultanelously,as if God and destiny had other plans,the bedroom door shut close,by a sudden gust of wind from the open window..
THUD!
Wide eyed Astha,stared up at an equally startled Shlok,who up till now,had thought she was just a figment of his wild imagination..
He was trying to move away..When Astha attempted the same,and being her clumsy self,slipped instead and bumped into his wet and naked chest,as his naked hard arms encircled her to prevent her fall..
