Acha before I begin let me just state that I think mental issues are also a bemaari and just as dire and curable as the physical ones. And here I'm going to talk about Selective Memory Loss (SML).
In the beginning I thought ke only Kriya was suffering from it. That was possibly when after she came back she couldn't for the life of her understand why Rey was acting so cold with her and being so mean to her. Because she was suffering from SML and had conveniently forgotten the thapadaar way she had shattered his heart to pieces before walking out of his life.
Yes, she had her reasons but again SML has made her forget that he doesn't know these and must therefore be informed of the same before she can expect him to welcome her with open arms.
Phir aayi Rey ki baari. Ab the interesting thing to note here is that SML can remain dormant. Also yeh bimaari chune se phelti hai. Case in point Rey before and after the famous rain dance.
Now one can argue that Rey already had acquired this bemaari before Kriya came on the scene since he had pretty much forgotten her very existence for more than a year. And I agree. He did contract this bimaari all on his own. Lekin jab tak Kriya wapis aayi, he had been miraculously cured.
Now, Kriya forgot but Rey remembered but then what happened? He touched her (and how!) and got it again. This time however, thankfully he didn't forget the whole Kriya standing before him - only her betrayal and his thapad se toota phoota dil.
Which is the ONLY logical reason I can think of why he would wish to go out of his way and ask Kriya to help him bring two lovebirds together who are undergoing issues and misunderstanding. WITHOUT first addressing their own issues.
It's the same Kriya, Rey in case you have forgotten, who you couldn't stand around. From whose mouth you didn't even want your name uttered. Whose very presence pricked your senses and aired your wounds.
LEKIN woh sab bhula ke you sought out that same Kriya and want her help.
Bhai, khulhari pe paon nahi sar maar do ek saath sara khel khatam. Seriously.
Aur CVs. Hehehe. Unko main kya kahoon? There are loads of people out there that have been complaining about how they suffer from this bimaari for months. I'm just surprised they're still alive and haven't forgotten their own names yet!
Lekin on a serious note, CVs have truly forgotten the issue between Kriya and Rey. And are now conveniently solving it in a kindergarden manner. If they wanted (and they still can!), they could use this set up for such layered, well-rounded characters. Let Rey and Kriya wallow in some angst for longer, let the push and pull persist. Let the issues mount. Let the resentment kindle the flames of past feelings battling with betrayal and guilt.
Please give us some passionate, angsty Rey and Kriya not the subdued awkward pair I saw on my screen last night!
