Romance novels can be written well by both male and female authors. In fact, Elizabeth Lowell co-writes many of her romance novels with her husband under the name E. Maxwell.

However, the thing is that many men do not gravitate towards that kind of writing (or from what I've seen). Though its possible that there may be men writing under pseudonyms or co-writing with their wives.

didnt know that publishers have problem with female writers 😲 that would be a stereotype then if it happens. this is just like hearing that females get paid less than males at certain places

No, it was nothing like that.

What the publishers had seen demographically was that while young girls would buy books by any author, irrespective of gender, young boys gravitated towards male authors.

So, when Jo started out, they just suggested they use her first two initials to make her gender ambiguous. Of course once the books got released and famous, everyone knew.

It is true though, that even subconciously when we see a protagonist in a book who is female, we assume the author to be female? Same goes for male charecters. I mean I guess it is all our assumptions. But yeah about the romance novels, it's true that most men don't usually write that genera of fiction. But that doesn't mean that those who do do it any better or worse than the female writers. I think that the quality of a romance novel depends on the author's writing ability not thier gender.

i think females r better romantic novelists bcoz of the simple reason that they have a heart and a mind both which is very kind and sensible.
