Rey is not a failure. Its just that most of the times *due to his nature/smtyms bad luck or his behaviour* he is MIS-understood and MIS-judged. and many tyms, he fails to see the 2nd person POV, which doubles up problems for him...

he s not a failure- he was ditched the first time( like u said forget kria s reasons)..he doesnt become a failure there

and he did move on---he never could find neither did he look for kriya in taani - they r too different to be similar except that both love him honestly...moving on with difficulty but finally happily enough. his failure to keep taani in his life is not a failure- its stupidity on his part but his intentions were extremely ...as they say honorable. and if youve seen taani with rey, you would appreciate the kind of confidence that taani gained from him that made her confident enuf to lead her life without him
so no he has created confidence in someone at his own cost- its stupid not failure.

as far as his career go, he s professionally won everything that he has participated in , he gave up aditya s offer only for his friends...and the current dance academy stuff has technically gone on for less than few weeks and he is at his personal worst phase till now- wo gayi tho yeh aagayi phase.

kriya helping him is good but he needs her help bcoz he s a failure is not really true. honestly from the time kriya has come back, i feel she needs his ... approval more than he need her .
