I think Ishita shoots herself in the foot when it comes to Ruhi. She is calm and sensible in all other aspects of her life--as you said, she was the most rational person in the whole Mihir-Meehika debacle. She is truthful, reasonable, and straightforward. I am loving this woman.
But when it comes to Ruhi, something happens, and its not exactly a positive trait. I wont comment on whether this is frustrated mother love, because I'm sure there are people who are inappropriate about other people's kids who still have five kids of their own.
I get the premise is that the "life long love" that Ishita feels will be for Ruhi and not Raman (which is a nice twist). But still, there has to be boundaries, and coming into someone's house, and taking their kid out the door is certainly not! Its an emergency--so you couldn't shout out to the five other non drunk family members, about the frothing little girl? Who would have stopped you from rushing to the hospital when they saw that Ruhi was at death's door?
When it comes to Ruhi, Ishita just...stops thinking. And thats not okay. Ruhi is not hers. Even after she marries Raman in the future, just because she loves Ruhi, that wont give her more rights or more say than Raman has. He is an indifferent father..but he is the father.
No matter what her private thoughts about Ruhi are (which are not based on complete information) Ishita cant just say whatever she wants to this kid's parent, and she can't be surprised if she gets rudeness in response. She does not know anything at all about this kid's background. If she gets the whole barren taunt, now, she has kind of brought it onto herself by being very personal about Raman's weak point.
She is the one who harps on and on about Raman's wife, and surely she can see this is not a topic he is going to welcome! No one would! No matter how worried you are about someone else's kid, you do NOT rudely imply things to single parent about the missing parent!
She is the one who rescues Ruhi from the room, but come on--Ruhi's father had left Ruhi with his date, a relative-by-marriage, who his mom assured him was a capable woman. He was at an awards function, having to do media coverage. He didn't want to bring Ruhi, but the family insisted, and he made alternate arrangements by bringing Ms Pea Green Gown along as a glorified baby-sitter.
The fact that Ishita helped Ruhi from tat room was immediately undercut by her saying, to a comparative stranger (which Raman still is) --you don't know how to care for your daughter, since you are yelling at her for wandering off, I'll take her away from you. No one gets to say that! Its HUGELY inappropriate!
The fact that that evening is when Ruhi goes missing? Dammmn...
