On December 27, Salman Khan turns 48. Last year, he celebrated the big day with a party at his Bandra apartment.
Former flame Katina Kaif, who spent Christmas and New Year in London with her family, was conspicuous by her absence. Will the actress, who has since gone public with her romance with Ranbir Kapoor, drive over to Panvel this year to give her ex a birthday hug?
Salman will be ringing in the day at the Khan family's Panvel farmhouse. A host of big names, including Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, Shatrughan, Poonam and Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar, David Dhawan, Sooraj Barjatya, Nikhil Advani, Govinda, Himesh Reshammiya, Arjun Kapoor and Bipasha Basu, are expected to attend. Only Salman's Ek Tha Tiger director Kabir Khan, who will be on a Himalayan sojourn from December 26, won't be able to make it.
Salman's father Salim Khan said, "We don't send out formal invites. Many members of the film fraternity call up in the morning to wish Salman and we tell them to drop by in the evening."
The Khans are packing their bags for a six-day stay at Panvel. "We leave on December 25 and expect to be back by December 31. We are looking forward to a good time in Panvel. We will eat, drink and make merry," asserted Salim. No prizes for guessing what's on the menu? The family's special biryani will be the main course.
