Let me also share a link which says Clothing giant like Mark and Spencer had to take Tops off the shelf from selling because it's design resembled a licensed design of a young designer.

And this licensed design is so simple and common that any 5 year old would make it.

But the entire point is about using it Commercially. Once someone license/trademarks something that can no longer be used for commercial purpose. It is against law then.

I don't think they even thought of it in that way while naming dere movie.I mean seriously even I couldn't recall for a moment that it was the name of ar rahman's song.Coz Jai Ho is a victory phrase.How can anyone copyright a victory phrase????

Exactly.He is not the kind of man to use cheap tricks.Dunno what happened to him.He should have brought up the issue months ago before trailer,teasers were launched.Still just to show some respect,salman should add something to the Jai Ho title so that rahman bhi khush aur woh bhi khush

That's really silly! It's a common cry used in slogans in India.

On a side note, I never understood the hype around the song 'Jai Ho'. Rahman has had many many more amazing songs. For me, the song was average at best.

Funny how AR Rahman now announces that 'Jai Ho' is trademarked by him! Especially when the trailer and teasers have already been released! Seems like a desperate attempt to make a quick buck. Couldn't he have negotiated with Sohail and the crew beforehand, that only being if his stand on the issue was legitimate?
