Hey Everyone 😃

I just read an article posted by roshni kumar (thank you 😃) titled Liar, about Sanjay dutt, lying about his relationship with his friend. This got me thinking, where do we draw the line between news, buzz and celebrity gossip and intruding into someone's private life?

Many of us are very intrigued by celebrities and what their lives are like off screen, hence every week we tune into shows like KWK which promise to give us a glimpse into the celebrities lives, who are their friend, and who their enemies, what rumours are correct and what bogus. And the more we get the more we want. Recently watching the hindi news on Zee, I noticed that the last 15 mins is always filled with new from bollywood... like which temple Ash visited today or what Rani did for her birthday.

Have we forgotten that these individuals are also people and deserve a moment of privacy? Or is that they have chosen this career and the reason they are paid the big bucks is b/c they have to always remain in the public eye, so they exchange money and fame for their privacy?

But what about when we accuse them of lying, when we ourselves drive them to do so by coaxing them with extremely private questions, who is blame then, our need to know what is going on or their need to keep their private life private?

Celebrites make full use of their popularity by cashing in on deals with with various companies by doing their ads etc... and it us who ending up spending our money buying these products b/c we can't help but be influenced to buy the "shampoo Kareena uses, b/c she has beautiful hair" ... this publicity helping fill the celebrites' pockets...

but why is that when it comes to their private lives or the wrong publicity (something wrong done by celebrity) that celebrities lash out on the media calling them gossip hungry and shy away from the camera? Should celebrities not be answerable for their wrong actions as well, when they make full use of their popularity to earn as much as they can? These celebrities are public figures and are idols for many, should they not be responsible for their actions even if it is their private life?

Now I ask you, where do we draw the line between, private and public lives? And... how much are the celebrities responsible and answerable to the public for their actions off camera?

i totally agree with u.. i think v hav absolutely no right to interfere in celbs private life.. we tune in to shows like koffee with karan b cuz the celebs come there and talk bout their life or their situation.bout calling someone right or wrong is not our right as v dont know the exact truth.. so i think v should give the celebs some space and not make n e decisions bout them

Nice topic! Though I LOVEEEE to read whats happening with celebs .. sometimes I feel bad for them because everything they do is publicized! I do think they deserve to keep their private life private. They afterall are people just like us! I'm sure no one here would want thier whole life publicized on tv. If celebs decide to TELL us what's happening in their lives than thats totally different.

i think tht's the way it goes coz they chose it....
they are celebrites ....people love them so they wanna know wat's going in the life of thier fav actors or actresses.............wat probs they have and with who .........we are their to heard every move they make tht wat makes them popular they gain more then they lose............from the rumors ....and most of the time they gain from it... it's good for them and instead of tht we get gossipes which are hardly true..
and tht's the only way !!!!!!!

I don't blame the celebrity's but media. Media is the one who make a star a good or bad. For example, Salman's case media has given salman bad guy image but they are many things which salman khan do which any person should be happy. he help so many people when they are in trouble and give chairty but media never write good things about salman. Same goes for Shahrukh. Even shahrukh says good things about amitabh but suddenly he says that people opinion matters, the line becomes headline on page 3. Shahrukh has always praised bachans, he infact refused zee game show because he didn't want to compete with KBC. Recently i heard about preity controversy. That she broke someone's marriage. For me it's hard to believe but media is leaving no stone to make preity image bad. I think media should be in their limits. I am sure every celebrity want to be in limelight but not in their worst day.

Even I don't blame the celebrities but the media!!The problem with the media is that they do not have any limits!!I mean come on they also are normal human being and they need some privacy which is not acceptable by the media!!Just becouse they act in films does not mean that they are no more free to do whatever they want!!And ya I agree with the fact that the media is always portraying these celebrities as bad person when most of the time it is completely false!!

I respect everyones opinion and to an extent you guys are right, but the one thing that really bugs me is when the celebs complain about the whole privacy issue. I'm regretfull to remind them that this has been going on forever, they know what they are getting into before they start their careers, so don't ask for pitty when it does hit you... they are/were fully aware of what the media was going to do with their private lives. And as long as you were aware, you pay for the consequences. They are to only blame themselves for ignoring the outcome. I'm not saying its right to intervene on others lives but hey Fame and money come at a pretty heavy price and if it didnt, everyone would have those two things.

Well one thing we shd remember is that celebs or no celebs-they are ultimately human beings-people with feelings-they also deserve the basic respect and privacy due to any person. We cant dismiss that by saying that they have to pay a price for their status. Its not like they dont work hard for it-Yes, they might potray a 'image' most of the time but thats coz every little emotion they show gets blown out of proportion by the media. Look at salman khan-one person who refuses to bow down to the media. Frankly, I dont think Sanjay dutt lied about his friend, even if he did, it just shows the gentleman he is-something about not washing your dirty linen in public.
