i think every actor wants to know audience feedback
and what their competitors are upto.
those who are not using twitter
are actively iam sure reading the latest updates and feedback
staying behind uknown different named account.

I can see why they are unverified on twitter.

They get to interact with their friends and family, see what's trending, and get their updates without getting 50,000 tweets sent their way every minute from their fans and non-fans. Less cluttered that way IMO😆

I think there was some twitter thing with Kareena a month ago, and desu posted that she knew what a twitpic was, even though she didnt have a twitter. So Desu hinted then that she could have one.

Interesting.

Irrespective of what they claim, stars do keep a tab on all forms of media and what's all being said or written about them. Even before advent of social networking sites, stars used to look up themselves on internet to see what's all being written about them.

If they themselves don't check then they have hired teams that gauge every response.

The star mentioned in this article must be foolish. Of course you have to be signed in to check trends Or else refer to sites like Trendsmap, Trendistic etc. that give live updates on Twitter trending topics.

Online is nothing. Stars have also been known to disguise themselves and enter cinema halls (where their movies are playing) to check audience response. Aamir's the only one who's openly admitted doing so.

Many get offended and cut off. Some, like Aamir, use feedback to better their strategies and public image.

I think it's impossible to resist the urge of checking out what people are saying about you, your work or your rivals. It requires lot of guts and brains to sieve important stuff from trash and take some cues for future from it.
