EXAMS ARE OVER. Yayy :)
Saw the episode in a rush so some brief thoughts...

Abhay, Niranjan & Shlok are living in a city of self where everyone around them are lifeless sculptures who they want to mould into their desired form so that they can derive pleasure from their own creation. But what they don't realise is that one day these very creations are going to be the cause of their destruction when they take on a life of its own.

Niranjan
Niranjan has lost all hopes on Varad, so he wants to & has been working on moulding Shlok into a dutiful, loyal son. He was proud that Shlok did as he taught him but what he didn't realise is that Shlok used his brain & put Niranjan's teachings to practice. Its interesting that Shlok knows of a place to hide the files, which even Niranjan is unaware of. Shlok has always given Niranjan what he ultimately wants & like Niranjan rightfully pointed out Shlok is another Niranjan in many ways, but does Niranjan realise the implications of what that means? Today for the first time, I felt that Shlok outsmarted his father in every way without Niranjan even realising it because he was too busy admiring his creation called Shlok.

Anjali Agnihotri is another creation of Niranjan who hides behind the pillar & listens to her son & husband's conversation. She looked like a detective gathering information. Yes, she does as he says which gets Niranjan gloating. But what will happen when Anjali breaks down? All the secrets & techniques that Niranjan used to create Anjali will be revealed. And that's where his city of self will come tumbling down.

Shlok
Astha is & will remain the only project of Mr Shlok Agnihotri. He decided to create her with colours of his fake love but lately that has been fading. He laughs it off like a devil at first, because his ego has clouded his ability to see. But when he realised that she is defying him & choosing to destroy herself (by walking on the broken glass) it smashes his ego & angers him. How can his very own creation defeat him? He is the ultimate master & the unbeatable opponent. Shlok is in for a rude awakening. He needs to realise that where the foundation of the creation was fake & weak, it won't last long. Certainly not per his command even though he was the one to make it.
Go Astha beat him in the game. Well she has started, by rebelling. Now move on to the next step.

Abhay
Abhay actually behaved very similarly to Shlok today in that he provoked Jyoti to beat him & then screamed at her for beating him.

Abhay, too, has been working to mould Jyoti into a doormat. Just like Shlok, he has created a beautiful but weak sculpture that might break with some strong wind. Jyoti might seem meek but she hasn't given up her spirit to want to live. One day, she too, will escape with the help of the wind (destiny).

"Many still confuse attachment and love. Attachments are about fear and dependency, and have more to do with love of self than love of another. "

Also, everyone in the forum please CHILL. Sick & tired of the constant fights & negativity. Its fun at times, but not everyday. Pur-lease.

Do share your thoughts!

Cheers,
Samridhi

Firstly, must say that I am impressed that you took out time to post right after exams. People generally go beserk after exams😉

Coming to the post I loved that you used the idea of the women being the men's creations (their sculptures) who they attach themselves to & become so blind in their very own creation that they forget that they too are a creation of God. My religion (Islam) preaches something similar. Statues are prohibited and there is a belief that makers of figures would receive the harshest punishment on the day of resurrection.

Apt title. Abhay, Niranjan and Shlok are very much living in a city of self where they do not see beyond themselves. It is so interesting that they are all stuck in their own web of manipulation. They are not realising that what they have created is going to end up being the cause of their destruction.

Niranjan said something like 'I am within you' to Shlok. That comment seemed to be a foreboding that Shlok right now (Niranjan's creation) is going to be the one to defeat his father. As they say the best technique to win is to know your enemy well. What's better is if you are able to think like your enemy. But the comment also seemed to imply that Shlok will lose a lot in the process. Probably Astha's love? Just like how Niranjan has lost Anjali's love. Astha walking on the glasses & her dialogue that the pain he gave her is much more than this physical pain seem to confirm that.

more later.. got to go for now

Afreen, the post was inspired by the teachings of Islam which I was watching in a documentary today. And when I watched the episode, that whole idea came back to me. Now I realise why Muslims don't pray to statues.

Niranjan & Shlok's conversation was very loaded & freaky in a way. Both seemed to be putting on a mask. Today for the 1st time I was doubting whether Shlok really loves his father as much as he claims to. They looked like two people who were in the midst of planning how to back stab each other though their tongues were filled with honey. Shlok is definitely going to lose Astha's love in the process as you correctly pointed out. Her determination to not go on the HM was resolute. Shlok told Astha today that he is unbeatable. He's found the right opponent in Astha who is going to beat him in every game. She has in fact already started by just rebelling which hurts his ego, explaining his anger. He is not angry at her, but rather he is angry at himself because she is defying nature by trying to take on a life of her own when she is merely supposed to be his creation.
