Father tracks down truck driver who crushed his son and drove away

CJ Rakesh Singh lost his 16-year-old son Akshay in a tragic road accident. An overloaded speeding truck crushed Akshay when the family was on their way to a wedding in Bijnor. The police failed to pursue the case beyond filing the FIR. So Rakesh took it upon himself to catch the accused driver. For more than a week, he travelled in trucks plying in Bijnore. He spent days eating at different dhabas to find the truck and driver responsible for his son's death. He eventually found success. He even used his handy cam to shoot videos of the truck that killed his son. Besides the details of the driver and truck, he also recovered documentary proof on how the driver had violated the law by overloading the truck. Thanks to his efforts, the Bijnore police arrested the driver. CJ Rakesh continues his battle. He has filed RTIs to find out where his son's case has reached and what the government is doing about over-loaded trucks.
