1. In qila situation he had packed his bags and was ready to leave amer. If not for Jodha's chanakya-neeti which indirectly inspired him to do something novel too.
2. In fake pregnancy, it was Jodha's gesture of returning the ring and standing for her innocence that forced him to re-think his decision and call upon Salima for help. Otherwise, he was happy to plop her head off her neck.

So one can see, he has always needed probing in the right direction before he can take a just decision. And to help him there is Jodha- his soulmate. She helps him reach correct decisions. He is not yet the invincible king. But he has someone around him to become one.
I am pretty sure Jalal would have talaqed Jo if such a law was passed. But Jo would have found a way around it and not waste precious time writing letters to dead fils to add more drama to the situation.😉

I would like to know though, what irks one more: Jalal's inability to take the perfect decision or the heroine glorification which is unjustified though the name of the female lead is also in the title along with the male one who should always take the centrestage, despite the story being about two people.

Ann,
Yes, Jalal is not Akbar yet. But he was never a fool or coward I thought.
1. In qila situation he was willing to leave because there was no reason left for him to stay. He had no reasons to doubt SD and the samdhi was demanding the fort that was never promised as far as Ja knew. Isnt it Akbar quality that just because Jo did a nice thing he reciprocates the gesture..He even thinks about Sukanya and warns her inlaws against any ill-treatment.
2.I would not give the credit to Jo for that at all. Over the period he has known Jo, he was unable to accept her as a disrespectful woman. If that was the case he could have executed her the moment he finds out that she is pregnant. Ja also told Jo repeatedly that he had not touched her, that did not change her view point about Ja - that there is a possibility he is not lying. Its Ja learning from the past that kept him sane and reach out for help.
This is the first time that he failed inspite of many people telling him that the law if passed to past marriages will cause havoc. The Ja that has been shown so far, it would have been a no-brainer that this law is only for future marriages. I cant digest the fact that the stage he is in, he was okay with making many couples sacrifice so that future of young girls is safe. Utter Nonsense!

Why Meghna, is the Emperor so dumb that he can't even decide punishment for the offenders? Why has the awaam to do it? If he didn't have an alternative plan, then why did he play along?
What did he hope to achieve by divorcing Ruqaiya and cancelling numerous other marriages in the state? Only resentment from his praja. Surely, he wasn't making laws for the first time in his life!
All this to adorn Jo with a halo. As though her dangling jewellery wasn't enough!
After 2 days thinking, brilliant deep-thinking Jalal is clueless and Jodha solves the samasya in a jiffy. Aren't we talking about Akbar the great?

You figured it out Sandhya. The CVs have no more money left to buy jewellery for Jo. So, they decided to butcher Akbar and create a 24K diamond studded halo around Jo.😉

That is what makes him Jalal and shows he is not yet Akbar. Kings can't always be right. Sometimes they take wayward decisions too. But learning from your mistakes is what counts. Jalal never really took prajas concerns beyond diwan-e-aam. But he has done so in this track. He himself did later realize the consequences of his law but didn't know how to take those words back without hurting AK who is MM's son afterall.

The shrewdness he showed in ratanpur wouldn't work here. Going against AK meant going against MM too indirectly. In the pre-cap he laps at the oppurtunity to throw AK to avaam. It is because he knows MM can't blame him here for anything.

The thing though Ann is that it looked like JA was forced to make a deliberate mistake so that Jo would come out looking great. The episode today indicated that Ja was okay with sacrificing many marriages along with his so that future young girls could be happy. This is not a mistake but foolishness. Do you believe that Ja is that foolish? Did Ja not understand simple straightforward obvious logic like that. During MC he doubted Jo and made a huge mistake, that was a mistake and I was okay. If during pregnancy also he doubted Jo, would have been somewhat ok. But, here it is not a mistake but a foolish blunder that makes him look like a dumbo.

I so hope CVs have a way of rescuing themselves out of this plot as this is a HUGE BLUNDER!

That is exactly correct the stage they are in, all great story telling is supposed to be progressive, but I have learned from Ekta kapoor previous serials they are not like that she is infamous for character assassination. Are we to believe that the TRPs will increase if women look great and men look stupid, what does that say about the audience. I liked the comparison of gandhi taking AK47s out and gunning the british with Akbar's inability to do the one thing we know he was epic at that is ruling. What do we know of Akbar really as a husband, father, or a lover or any other personal relationship, but one undisputed fact he was a great conqueror and administrator.

This track undermined all that he must have stood for just to make Jodha look like the typical queen B heroine. You know when I read the description of the show where it says the jodha will teach him to be an insaan I frowned with disgust, but was mildly surprised that so far they did not go down that route, but alas I should have known this is telly world women rule even akbar cannot be spared. I sometimes I wonder why I even watch this show. I am not a big Jodha fan I don't even have much belief there was any epic love, all that kept me watching was Jalal charima, hmmm which I sadly must conclude is on its downhill slope and knowing ekta kappor history there is no saving him he is doomed. Time to change the channel.

I have a lot to post but since I am too lazy to write everything and proof-read it, I am posting a link here: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/jodha-akbar/3843597/dilkush-episode
This exactly sums up my sentiments about the epi and gives a new way to look at the situiation. Please have a look and don't miss the page 2.
