Dear RK,

I believe on Thursday night both you and Ayan were out to have a gala time at a suburban restaurant in Mumbai. Which is a good thing. After all, hard working boys like you two must find the time to chill. I understand your need to whoop it up away from prying eyes. What I don't understand is your compulsion to bully a photographer who took your pictures while you left the eatery.
You took away the poor journalist's video camera and drove away into the night. I can just imagine the two of you doing a high-five and chuckling at your priceless prank as you drove away. Yup, you taught the bloke a lesson.
He, poor fellow, must have been defecating bricks on that crowded road as he must have stood stunned by your...errm, prank. Let me explain. That camera is that journalist's livelihood. It's bread, and no butter applicable. You wouldn't understand, you are a pampered rich filmy kid. But that poor journalist's entire life must have flashed by in front of his eyes, as you drove away with his most precious belonging.
What was the guy doing? Taking your pictures? And why must he be punished for doing his job? Do you know the pressures that photo-journalists on television channels work under? They're told to deliver scoopy snaps, sensational pics, sting-type visuals. And if they don't they are threatened they'd be fired. While you are partying at 4 am inside a nightclub, he is working. Waiting for you outside, without probably having dinner or a drink of water.
It's like, do or die. But I don't expect you two to understand. Intoxicated as you must have been on more levels than one, what with your recent successes. But think about what your behaviour must have done to that photo-journalist's morale.
One question bothers me. Why were you so outraged to be clicked with Ayan? It's not as if Katrina was with you!
Sincerely yours
Subhash K Jha

THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS!
Like seriously, the media is acting so idiotic.

You expect them to accept in what ever situation you photograph them but you do not expect them to react how ever they want.

When a person comes out from a party and that too being a bit drunk and you flash cameras on their face during the night then of course will that person get irritated and not accept your shit.

If you act disrespectful then so can he.

He is not taking your cameras away when he is prepared to be clicked, so stop this crap with: "you taking his money away from him".

^Well get your facts right.
Katrina didn't start the open letter thing.

It was out there in the media since mid 2000's, another actress wrote open letter back then to the media.

I absolutely agree with this open letter! Photographers are desperate to get a picture of celebs bcuz that is exactly what they will get their paycheck for, they are not there at 4am in the morning to have fun.
All celebs are made by the media, ranbir who creates the biggest pr buzz using his relationships should have known better than to mess with the media.
The camera must have been very expensive and to just take it away like that is so rude, how would ranbir like it if the photographer turned round and took his wallet!

I think the letter is very valid..Camera is an extremely costly equipment & indeed the source of the photographer's livelihood..
Agreed..Ranbir was not fully aware of what he was doing..while intoxicated..😛 ..but once he was sober..I hope he made amends...

for the first time...a very sensible and meaningful open letter...well written...
i feel bad for the photographer...its his living...and his boss could have fired him...
loosers like ranbir-ayan and his bunch of friends will not understand the living of a middle-class common man since they born into a rich family...everything comes into golden platter for them...jerks...😡

Paparazzi culture of stalking star at 3 to 4am is dangerous.I object it.

I agree with what Ranbir did, I would have done the same. 👏.

the paparaazi are doing their job, people do all sorts of things to try and put food on the table and these celebs should respect that.
It is these paparazzi that the celebs crave for when they have a movie coming out, yet they feel they have the right to abuse them?
