These are the times that i love Jodha. When she is patient , calm, intelligent , objective and even for her enemies , there are tears in her eyes. Ruqqu told her the worst things possible , wished her ill , promised her cauldrons of HCl. But Jodha? She had tears in her eyes for Ruqqu, she broke law and Jalaal's will to save Ruqqu's and Jalaal's marriage. She may have had no idea about the gamble that she was playing by creating hysteria in mob , she may not have had the slightest inkling that if the mob smashes the fort, it will all befall on her. YET... she played that gamble by suggesting Jalaal to play the emotion card and save his marriage. Maaham hates her , has done everything to finish Jodha and will continue doing so, but its Jodha who went running to comfort Maaham when a mob stone spurted her blood. Is it foolish to go out of your way for your enemies? Maybe yes, maybe no. A heart is a heart and its born with its nature. Jodha's nature is to nurture , protect and guard anything and anyone who is vulnerable. Farishtaa aisaa hi hotaa hogaa , bhale hi ussmein Jodha ka guroor na ho.
And Maaham? I felt TERRIBLE for her for exactly 15 seconds when she was caressing the mirror of the secret door - as though a mother hawk is trying to comfort her baby. Shattered. Scared. Vulnerable. In preparation for the karmic justice that will settle all scores with her. After those 15 seconds are over , you realize that Maaham will pay for all her sins one day by losing the one who is most precious to her - Aadham. Shaitaan ki jaan bhi toh tote mein thi na? Ek kamzor nabz har insaan ki hoti hai and the law of karma always attacks that vein and finishes you.
Lastly, i can't help but feel bad for Jodha . No, not because Ruqqu shot all cannonballs at her. Its OK. Ruqqu is not in her senses and her blind arrogance only darkens her personality in this hour. My reason for feeling bad for Jodha is that like many others in this story, even Ruqqu sees nothing in Jodha beyond her beauty. When she tells Jodha to adorn her for the night, you hear the dialogues and realize that Jodha's character in her eyes and many others is limited to her beauty. The person behind that face is anonymous and unknown. This black humour is often not discussed as much as the 'lack of beauty'. Beautiful people too face a strange sort of ridicule. The world looks at them and says - Oh! How beautiful. END OF STORY. Pretty people have their share of tragedies too. Jodha is pretty but that is not who she is.
No, Ruqqu. The heart does not fall in love with the genetic gifts of a face or silks and rubies or a case of foundation. The heart falls in love with the beauty that emanates from INSIDE and the person becomes iridescent - Beautiful from all possible angles. Yes, Jalaal is falling in love with Jodha . Its not because she pleases his eyes. A lot of women can do that , 10 times prettier than Jodha. Jodha feeds the heart and that's why Jalaal followed Jodha's advice without batting an eyelid or even consulting Saleema or Maaham. Why? I just told you, because Jodha is feeding his heart and the heart trusts Jodha. And it does not matter whether Jalaal realizes that or not.
Simple.
Pretty simple.
