CHAPTER TWELVE :

She woke up in the evening and turned on the lamp light while with other hand she was searching her cellphone here and there on the bed. She opened her eyes to look for Ayat but she wasn't on the bed and in the room too.

'Where did she go ?' Zoya thought confusedly and heard the door opening. She was still laying on the bed but noticed Ayat coming inside and closing the door without making any noise. She came on the bed from other side and hugged Zoya. Zoya smiled and hugged her.

'Shonu where were you ?' Zoya asked her suddenly while looking at her.

'Umm --- Actually --- ami ---'Ayat was confused at what should she say as she wasn't expecting that Zoya would be awake when she was out.

'You too ?' Zoya asked in disbelief as Ayat used the words commonly used by Asad. Ayat looked at her confusedly. 'Just say something else Shonu please and be confident and say the truth only.' Zoya giggled as she said that.

'Ok ami. Umm I went out to play with Hammad.' Ayat said with a smile this time.

'But why didn't you tell me ?' Zoya asked her.

'I jusht went to talk to abu but Hammad forced me to play for shome time.' Ayat said calmly.

'Are you having my phone ? Did you call Asad ?' Zoya asked her confusedly.

'Oh ya ! Here is you phone.' Ayat took out from her pocket and gave it to Zoya. 'You were shleeping and abu called so I took out from your pocket and walked out sho I cannot dishtub you.' Ayat said with concern for her. 'How are you now ami ?' Ayat asked her at the end.

'I am fine Shona don't worry about me.' Zoya said with a smile and sat straight while stretching her arms and yawned.

'What was Asad saying ?' Zoya asked her.

'He told you to call him when you wake up.' Ayat told her and took her I Pad while Zoya dialed Asad's number.

'Ami can I go out ? I have to show thish game to Hammad.' Ayat asked her when she was about to call Asad.

'Ok go. I am coming out in 10 minutes.' Zoya said with a smile and she walked out while Asad picked up the phone.

'Hey Baby ! How are you ?' Zoya asked while again laying down on the bed.

'Zoya don't call me that.' He said annoyingly like always. 'I am fine tell me why were you sleeping at this time ? Are you fine ?' He asked her with concern in his voice.

'Yes I am fine. We just woke up so early today and we were just watching TV when I fell asleep again.' Zoya told him.

'And what did the doctor say ?' Asad asked and she realized that she had an appointment with her doctor.

'I forgot to go.' Zoya said sheepishly.

'I guess I knew it !' Asad said sternly. 'Now get fresh and go with the driver its still 8 o'clock.' He said and she could feel anger in his voice.

'I will just go in half an hour.' Zoya said.

'Where is Shona ?' Asad asked her.

'She is playing with Hammad.' Zoya told him.

'Who is Hammad ?' Asad asked confusedly.

'He is Haider's son.' Zoya said with a smile understanding his protectiveness for Ayat and took her brother's name.

'How old is he ?' Asad asked a bit worried this time. Zoya tried hard not to laugh on that.

'Zoya tell me. Stop laughing ! Its serious.' Asad said annoyingly.

'Asad he is just three years old.' Zoya said while giggling but Asad was not satisfied yet.

'Why are boys always after my daughter all the time ? Can't they find anyone else ?' Asad asked angrily.

'What can I say on that ? Maybe because they find your daughter attractive and beautiful.' Zoya teased him more.

'These young kids are so cheap Zoya. Just keep Ayat away from them.' Asad said sternly.

'Oh really ? They are cheap and what were you when you were admiring me at the age of 8 and prayed to Allah to book me for you ? Huh ?' She asked him with combination of annoyance and amusement. He chuckled a little as he remembered their old days.

'That's why I am saying that don't underestimate these kids and I was not flirting with you. I was always serious about marrying you. I love you.' He said with a smile.

'And how can you say that today's kids are not serious about love ?' She asked annoyingly.

'Because they don't know about true love.' Asad said proudly.

'And what is true love ?' She asked while blushing.

'Umm --' He thought for a while to gather some words. 'I am not good at words you know that but true love is what Asad Ahmed Khan did to Zoya Farooqui.' He said proudly and she bit her lower lip.

'Did ?' She asked. 'Whoever said was right that love ends after getting married.' She said annoyingly.

'Whoever said that never met me so you shouldn't trust him. You will have my love for eternity.' He said and she was surprised at his words.

'Are you fine Asad ? Just save something for tomorrow I am not going anywhere.' She chuckled a little and came out of bed.

'You are right. I should save some for tomorrow or else tomorrow you will get angry if I have nothing to say.' He said and sighed sadly.

'Have you ate your dinner ?' She asked him while unzipping her suitcase.

'No ! I am just going out with a friend.' Asad said. 'So bye and take care of yourself and Ayat too. I will talk to you in the morning.' He said calmly forgetting that she was going to meet the doctor now.

'Ok. Allah Haffiz.' Zoya said and disconnected the call and walked toward the washroom.

She came out of the washroom and smiled when she saw Ayat sleeping already. She went out of her room as she thought she should go and check if Haider is home then she can go and meet the doctor with him.

'Abu where is Haider ?' Zoya asked her father who was sitting in the living room and waiting for her already.

'He is going to come late but where were you whole day ? This is not a right time to sleep.' He said to her while she sat infront of him.

'I was just tired. Can I have your car keys ?' She asked him.

'Why ? Where would you go at this time ?' He asked confusedly.

'I have to go to hospital.' She blurted out.

'Why ? Are you alright ?' He asked.

'Yes I am fine. I have to meet a friend. She got into an accident.' She said sheepishly and didn't tell him about her pregnancy as she felt awkward telling him by herself.

'Ok but you can go in the morning.' He said.

'No ! I have to. I already told her I am coming. I will be back in an hour or two. Don't worry about me, just take care of Ayat.' Zoya said while standing up and made the decision by herself as she couldn't wait anymore to confirm her pregnancy.

'Ok I will have a look at her before going to sleep.' He said with a smile and gave her the keys.

She walked out of the house happily and drived all the way to the hospital as soon as she could. After 20 minutes she parked the car outside the hospital and walked inside.

'Is Dr Kirti still here ?' She asked on the reception.

'No she already left.' Receptionist told her and Zoya thought that she can atleast pick her reports and come back tomorrow to discuss further.

'Can I get my reports ? Its by name of Mrs Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan.' Zoya asked hopefully.

'Can I see your patient identity card ?' Receptionist asked her while working on a file.

'Actually I forgot my bag at home.' Zoya said sheepishly as she already knew since afternoon that she forgot it.

'Oh ! Any other ID card ?' Receptionist asked.

'No ! Everything is in the bag.' Zoya said a bit annyoingly.

'Sorry ma'am. We are not allowed to give reports without proper identity according to hospital rules. Specially Dr Kirti is quite strict.' Receptionist said and Zoya groaned in furstration.

'Try to understand its my pregnancy report.' Zoya asked annoyinly.

'Is your home near ?' She asked and Zoya nodded in yes without thinking because their house was on five minutes drive from the hospital.

'So you can bring it. We are here 24*7.' Receptionist said with a smile and Zoya walked out.

Allah Miyaan ! We were better in Bhopal. No one knows us here. If it was Dr Neha Mehra in Bhopal she would have gave me my reports without thinking once. Zoya thought annoyingly and sat in the car to go back home as she couldn't take risk of going to Asad's house at this time.

'Should I go and bring my bag ?' Zoya thought before starting the car while rubbing her stomach. As the time was passing she was getting more desperate to confirm it and tell Asad and Ayat. She smiled and started the car and drived to her house.

Wait ! Wait ! Wait ! Please don't read from here if you don't want to get scared Its not that scary but still as most of you told me to warn before any scary scene so that's what I am doing !! 😉 But please do read last few lines of the update 😆 Maybe its going to be cliffy but its important !! She horned at the gate but the guard didn't show up. She waited for five minutes then came out of the car.

'Where did he go ?' She looked here and there but he was nowhere.She gulped as she saw the silent house inside the boundary. The small door on the gate was already open she came inside and started walking all the way to the house.

'Baby I am doing this for you. Remember that.' She said worried while keeping her hand on her stomach and opened the main door.

'How can he leave without locking the doors ?' Zoya thought annoyingly and looked back before going inside. She looked again inside the dark house.

'Asad will surely kill me if anything happened here.' Zoya thought while biting her lip annoyingly. She took some steps inside the house and switched on all the lights and felt relieved to see the house was not dark anymore.

She started reciting holy prayers while going upstairs as she was getting scared more now after coming inside and going upstairs. She came inside her room and walked toward the bed. She took the bag from the bed and started looking inside to check if the cards are inside.

She walked to her wardrobe and took out her personal identity card in case if she needs it. She clutched Asad's shirt tightly as the lights went off by its own. She couldn't get the courage to turn back anymore.

She turned back after a while with her eyes slightly open and started walking toward the bed. She tried to look for the bag. She was shocked when she didn't find it on the place she kept it. It was too dark but still she tried to look for it everywhere on the bed with her hands.

'Welcome back Zoya !' She heard the same voice whisperring in her ear that she had heard before too. She stopped for a moment but continued looking for it.

She tried hard not to cry out of scare and looked under the pillows. She threw both pillows and her hand reached her hand bag. She took it and ran outside the room. She gulped as she saw the whole house was dark. Her head was spinning when she looked down but she tried to be brave and walked toward the stairs.

She walked down the stairs carefully and ignorred the shadow she could feel coming down behind her and the footsteps loud enough for Zoya to understand that the spirit was behind her.

She was on the last stairs when the girl pushed her from behind. Zoya shouted as her foot twisted and fell down. Tears fell from her eyes but she was glad that she was on the last stairs so she was safe but still she didn't look back at her. She never wanted to look at her scary face she touched few days back.

'Please let me go !' Zoya said while crying still not looking up at her and tried to stand up leaving her behind.

She was shocked when she saw the door was closed. She remembered she left it open. She walked slowly closer to the main door with hope that it must be open. She stopped in the midway when her eyes fell on the mirror unintentionally. A loud scream came out of her mouth when she saw the girl she had touched before in it.

She was the same girl with cuts all over her body standing in a dark room than where Zoya was standing, her long hair fully opened and covering some of her body as her white dress was ripped from everywhere. She looked scarier than Zoya had thought of. The girl was smiling at her while Zoya closed her eyes and covered her mouth with her hands to stop herself from shouting. Tears were falling down from her eyes while the girl was laughing loudly now at her condition.

Zoya moved forward with her eyes still closed and rotated the door knob but as she had expected the door was locked. She fell on the floor while crying.

'No you can't do this ! Please let me go.' Zoya cried while wiping off the tears from her face while the girl was still laughing at her back but Zoya didn't turn back. After a while of controlling herself she looked for her cellphone in her pocket and mentally killed herself when she remembered that she forgot it in the car. She turned back and walked toward the corner table at opposite side of the mirror and picked up the phone without looking in the mirror.

She dialed Asad's number and was surprised when the girl didn't stop her from doing that. She waited for him to pick it up and rubbed her eyes and recited the holy prayers as fast as she could to be brave. She felt happy when finally Asad picked up the phone.

'No its not Zoya's call.' Zoya heard a girl's sleepy voice on the phone.

'Whose that ? And where is Asad ?' Zoya asked on the phone confusedly while her heart was beating faster as she tried her best to not think what her mind wanted her to think.

'Asad is sleeping and you are ?' The same familiar voice came on the phone while Zoya's eyes opened up wide in shock at her words.

A/N: Now thats what I call a cliffy !!! 😆 😆 😆 I know its cliffy but what can I say ? I am also shocked at the girl's words 😛 Anyways, it was getting too long so I had to stop somewhere !! So enjoy this long and a little bit scary update 😉 I will try my best to update soon tomorrow !! And Secondly, Its just a coincidence that Zoya's brother name is Haider here because I already used it in 'Breaking The Waves' so that means I have a right on his name before Gul Khan had 😎 😆 Just kidding !! He is not important in my story so you can imagine anyone else as I am not predicting anything here about the show 😉
