Ok just a thought here ..
I think in most bollywood movies and even hindi soaps , they over do the glycerine thing ... what cud be actually prety good stories come abt as overacting with all the crying sobbing scenes .. what shud be emoted thru eyes and actions are shown thru these excessive tears and bloodshot watery eyes .. for me , all this fails to make me sympathise with the character and rather makes me aware thats this is just acting ..
and the terrible thing is that in most movies men cry too easily .. this takes away their manliness ,, in real life men dont cry at the drop of a hat .. if they were shown bearing the pain silently i think id do more to get the message across to the audience ,, n make them feel too .
just tonite i saw namastey london which is a terriffic movie ... the only big flaw i found was the tendency of akshay's character to sob like a little girl .. it really puts me off .. same goes for movies like kabhi alvida naa kehna ,, in that too all those tears just irritated me !!
i just wish that these directors would try to focus more on getting their actors to actually act rather than cry ...
