Sugar and spice - A SwaRon OS
She was lying in her trusted bed, wrapped in sheets which had that familiar fragrance of sugar and spice she was addicted to. When she turned to her other side, she was surprised to find out that the source of her compelling addiction was missing. Convinced that she must be dreaming, she stretched her arm over the empty side of the bed in hope of feeling it. Her eyes flew wide open in shock when she realized that she had not been dreaming. Her heart started racing as the realization of her loss increased minute by minute. How could she not have noticed? She could literally beat herself up for her negligence. She tried to sit up and calm down. When that did not work, she decided to go and have a bath. Maybe that would help her in thinking clearly.
As soon as the hot water started running and she rubbed her favourite coconut soap all over her body, she could indeed feel her tensed body relax. After a while, her thoughts also stopped being gloomy. She tried to have her bath as long as possible, but when she could no longer put it off she got out and got dressed. In order to try and make her day pass by more easily, she decided to wear her lucky outfit. Normally, she did not pay that much attention to what she would wear. Today however, she could use all the good luck she could get. After fiddling endlessly with her outfit, she decided to go back to her room and get ready completely.
When she reached her room, she grabbed her hairbrush and started combing her hair in front of the mirror. That was a task occupying her enough, as her hair got all tangled up. Although she took her time to comb her hair, she had done it faster than she had estimated. As she was just starting to wonder what she should do next, her anxiousness started surfacing again. In an attempt to reduce her anxiousness a bit, she put on her favourite perfume which had a sweet fragrance that reminded her a lot of candy. When she was done doing that, she realised that she could no longer distract herself by perfecting her appearance. She realised that she was running out of ideas to distract herself and therefore decided that she was in desperate need of change of surroundings. She decided to seek solace in the silence she would find on the rooftop of her house.
Reaching the roof of her house, the silence soothed her at once. It was quite early in the morning, so the air was damp yet still refreshing. She started strolling on the roof, enjoying the freshness of the air, the clarity of the sky and the soothing sound of silence. That's when a peppery smell penetrated her nose, prompting her to sneeze. She started following the smell and found a pile of red chillies laid down to dry in the sun. She bent down to test whether she could smell the chillies while resisting the urge to sneeze. When she was about to give in to the urge to sneeze after having tried for a while not to do so, she suddenly smelled something else beside the spicy smell of chillies. It was a very sweet, tempting aroma.
She turned around to see where the new smell was coming from and noticed that there was a plate full of sweets which had not been there a few seconds ago. As soon as she understood that the plate of sweets was spreading the sweet and irresistible fragrance, she realised that it had something fishy about it. She came closer to the plate to take a better look at it. However, she instantly regretted doing that. The appearance of the sweets turned out to be even more appealing than the fragrance of the sweets. Not being able to resist anymore, she gorged on the sweets. After having relished the sweets, she started feeling guilty as always after having too many sweets. She understood that the person who placed the plate of sweets over there, was fully aware of her weakness for them.
It began to dawn on her that she actually shouldn't have eaten them, as she didn't even know who made the sweets. It might as well could be someone intending to harm her or poison her. As the shock of being possibly poisoned made her go weak at the knees, she decided to sit down and try to relax. While she was sitting, she tried to breathe evenly and calm down. She closed her eyes and tried to focus on what she should do now, when she all of a sudden felt that someone was approaching her. She could hear the person's footsteps more clearly with each passing second and panicked. What if that was the potential attacker?
She tried to think of her best self defence move and was about to open her eyes, when she suddenly felt two hands grabbing her wrists and placing them on her back. Before she could turn her head to see who was attacking her from behind, the person placed one hand on her eyes and pulled her closer. She could tell by the size of the hand that was disabling her from seeing and by the strength with which she had been grabbed by the wrists, that the person who was holding her in this position was male. He must also be quite tall, as she could feel the warmth of his breath on the top of her head.
While trying not to panic, she abruptly realised that she was able to talk to the attacker as he had not covered her mouth. As she was about to ask him who he was and what he wanted from her, the strangest thing happened. She started to feel a burning sensation in her eyes and tears started welling up. She also started to feel a compelling urge to sneeze. After she sneezed, she could smell everything more clearly. The hands of her attacker smelled of the same sweet and irresistible fragrance as the sweets she had just eaten. But beside that, they also faintly smelled of something spicy. It took her a few seconds to realise that it was the peppery smell of sun-dried red chillies. That would explain why her eyes started burning by the touch of his hands.
As soon as she recognised the smell of sun-dried red chillies, her panic was gone. With her panic gone and her mind totally clear, she was able to recognise the smell of his hands completely clearly. It was the same smell she had been longing for since this morning. The same smell which had been making her feel anxious once she got to know that it had been missing. The same aroma of sugar and spice which her sheets smelled of. It was the one and only addiction in her life.
"It's you!", she gasped. She removed his hand from her eyes and turned around to see a face with an irresistibly cute and apologetic smile and eyes glinting with mischief. "I plead guilty.", he said with his warm and deep voice. "Do you know how worried I was?", she asked. "I thought that you got angry with me for some reason and that you left me alone in our bed this morning because of that!", she said. As he noticed that she was really getting upset, he said with utmost sincerity: "I am really sorry, I only wanted to surprise you." When that did not seem to work, he started to get on his knees to plead for forgiveness.
But when he was on his knees and was about to apologise again, he could suddenly see a faint smile on her face. Her eyes started glinting with mischief, and she laughingly said: "You are not the only one who can fool someone!" He sighed with relief and hugged her. She was relieved to have him close to her again and snuggled into his chest, inhaling his addictive fragrance of sugar and spice. They laughed together like this for a while, when she suddenly released herself from his crushing bear hug. She looked up at him and said: "You know what? You are exactly as what you smell like. You seem to be very sweet, but you are actually also very spicy. It only takes a bit time to recognise this hint of spiciness in your fragrance of sugar and spice." "I know.", he said. "But you are no less than me!", he winked with a spicy smile on his face.
P.S. I know that this may seem similar to my previous SwaRon OS, but I initially did not have SwaRon in mind while writing this. Eventually, it came in my mind that this OS could apply to SwaRon as well. That's why I am still posting it :)
