Initially I had felt that Alok was just very much in love with his wife and horrified at the thought of seeing her in pain. Also - Meenu seemed okay with Shiv being in the same house and paying her more respect and attention than Ira. So I was not sure what wud get achieved out of opening this pandora's box - here - the records register !!
But having seen that - Meenu did not volunteer her son to Ira and that Alok guilted her into parting with her baby - knowing she was so emotional and fragile and alone at that time - no family, no husband and no didi to consult ---- I think Alok is the worst of scum and Meenu a gullible cheated mom who never saw how she was wronged and never sought to undo the wrong done to her later by confiding in either her husband or Daddu or anyone else.
Ira has a right to feel cheated and hurt and low and having been the recipient of charity without having asked for it !! I totally feel for her - poor thing !! It is too early to expect her to see things from other perspectives and go around thanking Meenu for the 'gift' ...
Meenu on the other hand must be feeling awful coz the huge sacrifice she has made and has lived with - every single day - is getting her no thanks from either SHIV or IRA and she must be really suffering and wondering - where she went wrong when her intentions were always so noble !! She had made her peace with herself and despite her best efforts - she can see only shikayat in both IRA and Shiv's eyes.
Alok shud get banished from Ira's room - that is the least of his punishments. He shud have found some time to broach this subject with Ira. Either when a healthy Sanchi was born or when Anup 'died'. It wud have been so easy to decide that - Meenu has voluntarily given up her kid and now lost her hubby - let me give her her baby back at least - after he is Anup's first born !!
Ira was not all that unstable all these 30 years. Ira wud have responded a lot more differently if he had told her this in Meenu's time of pain and need.
But Alok was insensitive and weak and selfish and probably wanted Shiv as his own son coz Ira did not have any more 'sons' while Meenu did have another one - Mahi.
Alok let Meenu live with her pain as a widow and as a quite sacrificer for thirty years !! That is a huge huge HUGE crime. He can never be forgiven for this !!
