Well historically, even in enough ancient times, men used to have many relationships. however in contemporary times, when human beings have been evolved enough to control nature itself, and not nature human anymore(most of the cases), this behavior may be considered wrong. however men do not need to give any excuses in indian context at least(actually asian, middle eastern too) because they do hold so much power on women, being in an extremely patriarchal society.

And at least as much I know, even with my friends and most of the people around me, noone cares about physical intimacy in relationships. A relationship is much more than just sex and intimacy. They don't give a damn about physical infidelity, but if its at emotional level, it is considered a big no.
