Sanjay Dutt and producer Firoze A Nadiadwala have become friends once again, putting an end to their cold war of eight long years.

Relations between the two had soured immediately after the release of Kartoos in 1999. "They both are short-tempered and due to some misunderstanding they had a huge showdown. In fact, Firoze had to shelve his film Raftar as an angry Sanjay walked out of the project, after the producer abused him publicly," says our source. The rift is said to have been created by few of their common friends.

After eight long years, they have decided to let bygones be bygones. Choreographer- turned-director Ahmed Khan (a close aide of Firoze) and Sanjay's secretary Kalim played mediators, and finally got the two to speak with each other. "Recently, when Sanju baba was shooting at National College in Bandra, Firoze bhai thought of meeting him. They were meeting each other after a gap of eight years. However, Sanju was courteous enough to come to the main gate of the college to receive him. They were very cordial, to say the least" says an eyewitness.

In the half-an-hour that followed, our source says, they talked about several things. "They started talking about cars and other gizmo as Sanju and Firoze are passionate about cars. Immediately after that meeting Sanju went and met Firoze at his office in Juhu and they even ate lunch together. It seems that everything is fine between them now," says our source.

Firoze has approached Sanjay Dutt for his forthcoming project, a total masala flick. The buzz is that the film will be directed by Ahmed Khan. When contacted Ahmed he says, "Yes, it's true that Sanju and Firoze have patched up and that they will be working together soon. As far as directing a film for them is concerned, I would love to do it if my dates match those of theirs."
