a woman of her age and experience would know that things can get out of hand quickly, especially with a witch like Ulka, and to nip in the bud as soon as possible

Hmmm...well I don't think so she is ashamed bt she ws begging as she wanted to tell her family in a respected manner n not like this. My pov.
