Episode 433 Discussion: 19th Nov 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is
  1. It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
  2. We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
  3. It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
  4. And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Note for Newcomers to this thread.
Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. It is entertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. We do not want to feel stifled into that kind of atmosphere here.

There are several other social welfare sites that are there to discuss the genuine issues. If for some reason, it is felt that social concerns have to be addressed and ethical and moral responsibility needs to be exercised for watching entertainment, then; certainly the forum is an open place to create separate ATs and build up that kind of propaganda.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread. Strong words such as psychopaths unless used in show, need not be used to instigate riotous atmosphere or start sermonizing.

POINTERS for Writing/Posting of your reviews and thoughts over this EDT
  1. Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
  2. Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.
  3. Regulate the font size. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters for no special reason.
  4. The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating/whining/complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum
  5. When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.

For those who cannot watch can have the Live/Written Updates.

Note:
  • There are various other threads all over the forum. Please check out those as well. This is just one choice out of so many.
  • Readers are encouraged to post links of other members posts which had been "delightful read" towards analysis of episodic event/s or character analysis. It becomes an easy navigation in the myriad of posts and pages and can easily be overlooked.
  • The link to present day ED thread is always provided in the previous one discussed. Those who participated in previous thread can go to my posts and check the previous thread to get access to new link.
  • The link to Previous Episode thread if anyone wants to trace and post thoughts there. https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/madhubala-ek-ishq-ek-junoon/3816093/episode-432-discussion-18th-nov-2013

Don't know what to quite make of the episode. On the one hand, I felt like it did show RK's process of realizing that a baby at this time is not a great idea from his perspective (heavily warped as it may be.) On the other hand, I as a viewer didn't completely buy into it. In any event, the story is moving along...
  • So Weakling begs Madhu for forgiveness (I knew it! She knows that RK can be generous and magnanimous - he just forgave Sikky, and so she can strike while the iron is hot.) Of course Madhu forgives Weakling. Weakling - do NOT swing the other way now. Time for you to develop a backbone.
  • The coming baby has already become important to Madhu - she has formed an emotional, and protective attachment/bond with the child. Which is understandable and realistic I think.
  • At the studio - MC reacts as expected to the news - with dismay (hey Madhur Bhandarkar did the same with Aishwarya, so I guess it is indeed realistic.) And elaborates in painful detail for an already insecure RK the risk of the news being public.
  • And thus it starts. RK is overset by nightmares of the film and his career flopping, the vultur-ous media frenzy.
  • And then Madhu is putting up a photo of two babies. Random thought - why would they use "phoren" babies? Can they find the picture of an adorable Indian baby? I mean, they could have used ST's baby's picture (as adorable a munchkin as any.)
  • Sweet sequence in rain - RK lifts Madhu up, she gives him a significant look...It was just a dream.
  • Alas, rude awakening. She wants the child. He doesn't. RK tells Madhu he doesn't want the child under the difficult circumstances they are facing. Madhu shocked. Infamous slap. (Nope, doesn't look like it's slapped any sense into him, so totally useless as slaps go. You've gotta find something else Madhu, next time you want to make a point.)
  • PS: RK's Eiffel tower T-shirt is back. Hmm. Cant say I'm crazy about it. He did look good though.
The Precap: The two at an impasse.

Ok got to admit that after the episode, I don't feel RK is being totally unreasonable though his demand is against my sensibilities, besides Madhu's of course. RK's shouting when he was adressing such a sensitive topic and Madhu's slap to him was totally uncalled for. She could have stopped at the "How dare you" and he should have sat n explained it more softly at the very least. Not that the result would be any different, I guess he shouts to hide the fact that he's not guilt free to make such a demand of her. The one good thing I take back from the episode besides Madhu's obvious bonding for the unborn child, is that RK's protective instincts as a father has also kicked in. When Madhu slipped, he was instantly n instinctively reminded of her condition not just her well being. So I'm willing to forgive RK for the harsh thought, thinking that his heart is not in his words. Its a difficult situation. This too shall pass. I wont lie, right now I feel like chanting "Hauslon Se veer ho". 😆

If it was any other day, I wud have ripped the episode apart..since i was thinking too much abt it and most of the arguments presented were already discussed , i'll not waste too much time on the review..
as expected, Radha begs for forgiveness and Madhu forgives happily...ma ma bond and now child child bond..spare me the horror ! i'm not impressed with Radha's tears...look at Madhu, she's ready to slap her husband for her unborn and Radha cud not do anything for Rishu for these 30 yrs except crying ..what a shame ! Meenu, perfect name you have given her..

the first scene was adorable..a good morning...disturbed by aasuon ki baarish..bec. now Radha wants a grandson/grand daughter 🤢 sorry for bringing her up again and again..

RK breaks the news to MC (I guess many of us demanded a similar scene) and MC affirms tht it's risky business for the movie...flop director suggests tht if it was any other day, he wud have shifted the focus back on RK 🤣 like when? at the last day of the shoot? his script can become hero oriented if RK was okay? nyhow, i found his apprehensions realistic ..few scenes had to be re-shot and obviously there will be a lot of post production work for them..

RK is haunted with bad thoughts that his career is over and he's finished ..in the dreams also MC was shouting at him 🤣

RK asks Madhu to abort the child and gives several arguments for it...(the rain scene was insignificant except tht RK wasn't too happy with the thought of his honeymoon phase being over)

the way i look at it, i felt that RK is not happy saying it and he will very soon make a flip over..he has been possessive about everything tht is RK's and this is RK's baby..in no time, he will change his stand , the moment he will sense the presence of the baby...my mom always tells me "bacha apne hisse ka pyar apne aap le leta hai" ...it's the natural instinct of parents...yes, he may be sounding very rude and crude but that's being done for the purpose of dramatization bec. they have to now show tht Madhu doubts RK for attempting to kill their child...he is thinking practically , he wants a secure future and a better life for their child...as a head of the family, he has to think abt not just his child, Madhu, his mom and the parasite family too ...HE is responsible for their well being..

although, he's correct in his place (n i've been stressing on it frm very long), he sounded like a loser today...(CR, you coined a perfect term for him)..he's not wrong, he's not being butchered, he's not being influenced by anyone, he's acting like a loser...but i can't blame him completely for it bec. his life is totally screwed up at this moment (which he mentioned ..that their future depends on this movie)...

Madhu's bond with the baby is natural...(BTW how can it be her first month? medical science ke saare ajoobe yahi hote hai?) ...when RK was paralyzed, 2 months shooting was left..did she conceive last month? 😆 poor RK ! after watching the complete scene, the slap didn't look out of place, but i'd still prefer if they didn't show such things b/w husband wife except in extreme circumstances...the matter can be discussed without raising hands...

and yes, I was in spilts with the thought of RK getting bankrupt and RM paalofying their bache with lots of love in chawl ..the picture which comes to mind is hilarious..RK begging (paralyzed logon ko ache se mil jaati hai bheek), and Madhu working in under construction building , dono pyar se bache paal lenge !

Okay I am a surprisingly happy viewer of MEIEJ at this moment.. 😳
I am loving it because it's all over RK's brain vs. Madhu's heart battle again.. No one is getting butchered to glorify the other one. Their viewpoints are shown clearly. That's actually a relief. According to me at least.

Madhu is being her emotional self. RK is being his practical self.

For once they are not showing the other one going completely wrong, so that one can look righteous. They both are right and both their stands are understandable.

I just hope in coming episodes they continue to show RK and Madhu this way only... I feel connected with them all over again..

Don't know why I can never get mad at Rk for a long time no matter what he does!! I mean I hate the fact of him asking for abortion beyond any other thing shown in the serial up to date, no matter how much difficult they show cirumstances, as I just can't believe there is no way out of this problem, in a love story which is supposed to be epic I just can't understand why they can't find a way to save both the film and the baby but at least I'm glad they didn't show Rk in an extremely bad light, there were many things that led him to take this decision although personally I'm not very convinced, but the fact is that he asked for abortion and this for me itself is disappointing and moreover in the precap he was harsh about the fact that he doesn't care about a baby he doesn't want to bring to life!!!

Now if we let aside my own romantic conception of things, I think what they are trying to show here - if this is ever true as I don't understand how Bollywood works- are the difficulties and the bitter truth of Bollywood which needs I guess the lead actress to dance in shows, make interviews, be shown as a beautiful, glamorous woman to promote the film which in itself shows how shallow this Industry is, I mean people should watch the film because of its story, if it's a good one and it features good actors why not and so what if the lead is married or pregnant, what's the problem, as a girl I know Vivian is married, yet that doesn't prevent me from watching his show and liking his chemistry with his costar, the same if Drashti gets married or pregnant for example why won't I watch her movie or why won't a male fan watch it, the most important is her look and performance in the movie!!!

I'm sorry I just can't get it😃

ETA: I just wanted to add an idea which I head many dads talk about, generally a mother develops the emotional bonding with her child while the latter is still in her womb, whereas the dad develops the emotional bonding only after the baby is born and he sees him with his own eyes and starts to play with him etc...

Rk at the beginning I guess was happy with the idea of having a baby but not yet directely with the baby

My sister when she was pregnant has asked my brother in law if he loves the baby he answered that he should wait till the baby is born to really tell her about his feelings as now he really doesn't know what to say about his feelings sure he is happy that his wife is pregnant but the emotional bonding and feelings for a dad come after the birth of the child😊

🤣Don't even get me started on how did this happen in the 1st place. Didn't this practical and sensible RK know beforehand that Madhu was acting in his movie. Even I have to ask the same question MC asked. what kind of planning is this?😆 They are married and they should plan for all this, its not as if though this happened suddenly on a barsaat ki raat in a cave somewhere. 🤣

And now he wants to be practical and sensible. Jhoothey padenge mujhse.

nice episode...The CV's have somehow managed to shut the extreme reactions right when the precap was shown...both r right in their stands...RK is thinking practically and Madhu is emotionally...RK doesn't want to bring their child in such a troubled environment...The baby being a part of her ,Madhu already feels connected to it...

The pendulum has swung Madhu's way and with the same old dialogue "Madhu main tumhare baare main aise kaise soch sakthi hoon...mujhe maaf karna"... wait for another incident to occur and then she will swing the opposite end...

MC over expressive reactions were really funny...and those dialogues of MC when RK broke the news to him ... "RK yeh tum kaise kar sakthe ho?yeh tumne kya kiya?" 😆...

nice reviews..loved the epi today ..great RM moments and the famous slap yet again to rk.. i love the post slap era in mb..love the conflict between rk,s mind and madhu,s heart..both are right in their ideologies but my sympathy lies more with madhu as a mother ,whatever the situation a mother never accepts to abort her child..even if she has to beg for its survival..dvd were stupendous yet again..thanks for the RM edited scenes..
