Varun Dhawan in Milan Talkies

Shahid Kapoor wanted to act in Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies but he wanted an A-List actress like Katrina Kaif or Deepika Padukone, as reported by After Hrs. Following the signing of Shraddha Kapoor as the female lead, Shaks exited the film. Now it is learnt that producer Ekta Kapoor is keen to sign Varun Dhawan for the part.

Says a source, "Ekta was impressed with Varun's work in Student Of The Year and had approached him for two films Milan Talkies and Main Tera Hero (directed by David Dhawan) but he only had dates for one, and so Shahid was roped in for the former. After Shahid left the film, Varun is being considered again. Also, now that the film has been delayed a bit, he might find his way back into it.

Talks are on again, though Varun still has to read the script. He will take the final call. But it is not all signed and sealed yet because he has to complete Main Tera Hero, Karan Johar's Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, followed by Sriram Raghavan's and Mohit Suri's untitled films. If the dates are worked out, then he will be paired with Shraddha for the first time."
