We have discussed many times that if Angad was a good husband and if Kripa was a good wife or mother etc. I can't recall any post specifically discussing that if Angad a good father to his children Sur and Prateek.

My views: After the five year leap we saw Angad being both a dad and a mom to Sur...he gave her too much love , maybe a little too much that he spoilt her. Sur was a ill-mannered, stubborn and mean to others even elders. She even lied which Angad supported and told Kanan that "if she lies to protect herself, good for her..the world is too bad so she should protect herself" I dont think that justifies it. A father should always stop his child from doing wrong. He should also discipline the child and teach them good morals which Angad did not! Also he slept around even at his home or should i say " mediated" lol which am sure Sur would've seen....what affect did that put on her. Angad was a bad influence on a little girl. After he met Prateek he did want to take him away from Kripa which did show that he really loved his son ...when he saved Prateek from fire he was just devestated to know that he has been living away from his son for last 5 years and just wanted to be with him...but when he came to the hospital he gave him candies, video games etc thus showing that he will spoil a good kid like Prateek with his love just like he did with Sur. In short, though Angad love his kids more than anything, he wasn't a good father. Parenting isn't about just giving love..its more than that... discipline, good morals, being a good example to your children are very important too.

Note: just to avoid fights its best if we dont discuss how bad of a wife or mother Kripa was since its been discussed many times before. The topic is about Angad so please stay focused on the topic that if Angad was a good father or not. Thanks 😊

nice topic...

i agree with you.. angad wasnt a great father.. he gave love to both sur and prateek but like u said.. its not just love.. discipline, morals and all that also come into play... he did spoil sur a lot.. and she was indisciplines and bad mannered.... i disliked the character for the reason.. neway with prateek he loved him a lot.. and i guess to make prateek like him.. he sorta gave him al lthe toys and candies.. took him out and got him ice cream nad stuff.. he was ok as a father but not the best one.. i think he tried hard to be both a mother and a father... and ended up just spoiling the kids..

i agree its not easy being the fun and responsible parent at the same time... angad was the fun parent while kripa was the responisble one...(i am not saying that kripa was boring)however...angad did spoil sur and that was the reason kripa got all angry at the hospital after the fire because of angad's actions...i would too...i mean if my husband cums and tries to take away my son in addition my son sides with him i'll get pissed Angad was not a good parent!!!

He was a good parent....Except he luved his kids so much that he always played the father role or playing and always spoiling them but he could never becomes surs mother so it was pretty hard for him to raise sur but luckily he had kanan.....But kripa always beleived in dicipline which was hard for angad to cope with that as he always treated his kids not as their parents but as their best friend....Kripa is right in some ways beacuse she always wanted to set a role model/example to her kids and teach them sanskar and stuff but still...Sur was quite ill mannered at times but thats not her fault she never grew up with a mother so she never got rought up with that training as prateek did but overall angad was a good parent....

Good question, eventhough I would have liked it to be a little more specific...See its not clear to me if you were asking whether he is good to Sur as a father or good to the world as Sur's father...

If you look from Sur's side, he is a grrrreat father...He doted on her and never never never made her realize that she was not his biological child...Forget making her realize, I doubt if he himself remembered it... 👏 ...And then he worked hard like a donkey, just so that he can take care of his daughter..So if you look at it that way, he is indeed a good father...He is any daughter's dream father... 😳

But his love completely blinded him from seeing Sur's shortcomings and as a result of which he was not able to correct her...there is another reason for this...His own life's bitter experiences made him pessimistic and a little rebellious and revengeful towards the world...So he wasnt able to teach his daughter the niceties of the world..In fact I feel that he purposefully avoided teaching her those things and he thought that they may make her weak, just like him when he fell in love(according to him)...So he knows exactly what he was doing...In that way also he is a good father..But yeah if you go by the book, for the same reasons, he is not a good father...

Luv,
Raksha 😳

I think that if a good father is one who never makes his child feel lonely or ignored, and gives undying love, then Angad is a good father! He loved Sur so much and gave her his everything, and never made her felt that she wasn't really his child, in fact it never even seemed like that because i myself forgot that Sur wasn't his child!

But..... he spoiled Sur to the extent of loving her so much (does that make sense?), and allowed her to think that she could get anything she wanted.... he never corrected her faults or said "no" because he couldn't see anything wrong with her since she was practically his life!

Am I making any sense? 😕 😛 great discussion topic!

a gud single father iz d one who neva lets his child feel alone. neva deprives d child of d luv dat he cud hav gt 4m his mother. But den again puttin in values n the feelin of humbleness, juz d way a mother puts in. he shud love d kid, but 2 d extent of nt spoilin.
many times we see that d father iz immersed in his pain of losin his wife, or nt payin attention 2 d kid, cuz dey r irritatin 😆
so cumin abk to d topic, angad luvd sur, he gave her d lub of kripa but nevertheless spoiled her. she was a rude girl for her age. i mean kids r supposed 2 be sweet. he din giv her d value dat kripa oderwise wud hav givn her. wat eva b d reason she left her kid, angad shud hav instilled sum sensibilities in sur, which obviously wud help her b a better human bieng. personally i din lik surs cahracter[ def d gurl iz sweet. 😳 ], dat brings me bak to angads inability 2 b a gud fader. but if we forget all dis, hedid luv sur a lot....llike givin her wteva she wants or let her do as she likes...dis again takes us bak to d point dat he spoiled her............ooooh nw i m gettin confused....

you two have valid points as well... I believe it was just because he loved Sur too much
