Chapter 2
"Asad, stop! It's okay. I can walk" Asad didn't reply nor stop. He continued his way out the factory doors. Zoya fit her injured head in his warm chest as he continued his way out to the flashing lights of the police cars. Outside, the police stood, out of breath beside their cars with no sign of Tanveer. Asad slowly put Zoya down in the car, with the window open as the inspector came up to them.
"Asad We tried to catch Tanveer but had already got into a car right when we got outside. My men, however, did catch the licence plate and noticed that She did have another woman with her. This woman, from what we saw, was injured in the arm and was being pulled by Tanveer. Do you have any idea who it is?"
Asad took no time to answer the question. "Shukria. Inspector, I am sure it is Shukria."
"Alright then. I will drive you guys to the police station to get Zoya's description on this kidnapping and then you guys are free to go." Asad and the inspector sat in the car with Zoya and drove off.
After giving her description, Asad and Zoya left in Asad's white clean SUV to the Khan Mansion. The whole ride there was silent. Zoya had looked out the window throughout the whole ride as if she had never seen daylight before. Asad drove silently as he didn't want to bother Zoya with so many questions. She had just come back from such a traumatic event, asking her questions just didn't seem right.
Twenty - Five minutes of driving, and they had finally reached Asads' house. Asad opened the door for Zoya and picked her up from the seat. He shut the car door and walked towards the door and rang the door bell. Najma ran and opened the door.
"ZOYA! Oh my gosh! Zoya? Is that really you?"
"Yes Najma, it really me!" Zoya smiled weakly at Najma, trying to hide her pain.
"Najma, can you please move so we can get through." Najma moved to the side, letting her bhaijaan and hone wali bhabhi in. "Also Najma, call the doctor right away. Zoya is severly injured."
"Yes of course Bhaijaan." Najma Walked to the home phone and dialed the doctors number as Asad walked towards Zoya's room. As Asad put her down on the bed, his ammi ran through the door.
"Zoya beta! You're back! Allah ka lakh lakh shukar hai that you are back!" Zoya repeatedly smiled weakly.
Najma walked in the room and joined her family. "Bhaijaan, the doctor said she will be here in 15 minutes."
"Okay thank you Najma. Ammi, can you get some water for Ms. Farooqui. She is very weak."
"No it's fine Mr. Khan," Zoya interrupted, "I can get it myself!" Zoya tried to get up bet her weakness caused some dizziness making her fall back on her pillow.
"Zoya! Stop! You are too weak right now. Until the doctor does not come, stay here and Don't move. If you need anything, I am here. We are all here for you." Tears filled up Zoya eyes quickly. Not of pain, but overwhelmed of happiness. After so many days of suffering, she finally got to the sunlight of happiness again. Someone who cared about her. Not just one person, but many people who care about her.
Ammi had brought the water for Zoya and slowly put her up. Asad put the pillows behind her back, making it easy for her to sit. As Zoya was about to grab the glass from her puphi, she moved the glass away from her reach. Zoya was a bit confused by her sudden reaction. "No Zoya, today I will feed my daughter. She has finally returned home after man days, and now it is my turn. No, our turn to help you. After everything that you went through, it's time you treated like the princess you are." She slowly put the glass at her mouth for her to drink. After finishing, Phupi put the glass aside.
*Ding Dong*
"That must be the doctor. I'll get it." Najma left the room and brought the doctor into the house. She led her into Zoya's room. "Doctor, this is the patient I was talking about. Zoya."
Asad got up from the side of her bed so that doctor could examine Zoya. "Seems like you've been through a lot. Many injures by just looking at you. If it is okay, I would like to examine Zoya alone."
"Of course doctor" Asad said calmly. The whole family left the room and shut the door behind them.
After a long 10 minuets of examining and patiently waiting outside, the doctor came out and shut the door behind her as well. Everyone went to the doctor as she exited her room. "Look, Zoya had already had a major head injury and this is her second one in a very short period of time. Because of this, she may suffer from hallucinations, terrifying memories and possible some symptoms of PTSF."
"PTSD? What is that Doctor?" Najama nervously asked.
"PTSD is a short form for Post- traumatic stress disorder. This usually develops after a traumatic event giving the patients things like distorted flashbacks of the event. There are very low chances of her getting it, but still, if you see any symptoms, than please do call me. I wrote down some prescriptions for her, get them right away, and get her doses started As soon as possible."
"Thank you doctor." Asad's Ammi walked the doctor to the car as Asad came into Zoya's room. Zoya was slowly trying to get out of her bed to get to her closet.
"Ms. Farooqui. Stop! I already told you to stay put. If you need anything you can just call me."
"Well Mr. Khan, I just need to change, and then you can help me later." Zoya said very quietly and in pain.
Asad agreed and left the room.
Zoya changed and her dinner was served in bed. After a such a tiring day, everyone went to bed early to start a new fresh start tomorrow. It was now 1:00 am and Zoya, laying in her bed began to move. Her eyes were twitching and she moved from side to side. All of a sudden her eyes opened wide.
"ASAADD!" Zoya screamed at the top of her lungs awakening everyone in the house. Her sweating body shook on her bed faster than ever.
