I watched the SurYa scenes (thank you Rama Aunty). and I have a new perspective on the show.

If the upcoming post IPS tracks is going to mean that there's more intense story telling then I'm all for it. Today's mock interview and Suraj's superb turn made my mind go all over the place. He is a very under utilised character. I'm tired to my back teeth of seeing him play second fiddle to Sandy's never ending IPS quest. So now it's the end game, and things have to switch around a bit don't they? I finally saw a strong, confident Suraj. Something I've wanted to see for ages. And Sandy floundering with the smiles - wanted that to stop and Suraj stopped it. Is this couple finally getting down to brass tacks? Finally some reality.

Parallel lead, I'm going to call her mystery woman. Judging by today's Suraj, he's a mastermind. MW may actually be one of his tests. Notice how he asked Sandy "What will you do for you country?" and she said at once " I will give my life for my country!". Saw his measured reaction? Oh loved it. Sandy always goes to extremes right from the get go. And his counter " Don't die for your country, FIGHT for your country". SurYa and Sandy in particular has always been about sacrifice. Here now Suraj is saying, stop with that, it's not always the best thing, sometimes you have to fight. MW may make Sandy fight for her marriage? Fight for her love? Is Suraj going to end up having to plan a EQ training session after IPS for Sandy. He is the master of it after all.

Once IPS is over, what else can sustain the show from the pov of emotions and relationships? It could have been BhaSan tension, but maybe CVs have chosen to put the spotlight on SurYa. No more BhaSan.

As for this next about to happen Sandy jumping into sudden romance mode with the rewed idea. It's typical Sandy-ness, always trying to fix things. But oi!!! This is a relationship. You cannot do that! This is why I find it hard and will struggle to watch it. So I think, after today's revelations, Sandy will need some new treatment to improve her approach to heart matters. It will be gradual, it has to be (else I can't take it). It might take a whole year. But this is something that needs to be drawn out and shown well - the transformation of Sandy. If they are on this track...then it can be quite good to watch...

Okay It's cold here and I'm getting lazy again... so I'll just copy my post from the other thread here as well. 😆

Maybe the parallel lead is being brought in to test Suraj during Sandhya's 11 month training. I guess they can't just show one leap after another. They have to show how her absence affects Suraj and the Rathi family in one way or the other.

Plus Bhabo has turned nice. Meena is always semi-negative...but just how much damage can she do with Sandhya away? So the CVs have to bring another character to cause some kind of conflict.

Now while I don't want Suraj's character to be assassinated in any way..I think it would be interesting if he is faced with an amicable girl who is a total opposite to Sandhya...in terms of emotions, and domestic understanding and abilities.

In fact it maybe nice to see him actually face the kind of girl Bhabo had always dreamed of for him and then decide that no...what he wanted was someone like Sandhya all along 😛

On the other side of the coin...Sandhya loves Suraj...but who knows...this new entry may make her more willing to express her emotions to Suraj. A little green eyed monster sometimes helps people go to lengths they were too shy to go to before 😆

On the whole ...I'm not worried. I mean Chaturi has had a crush on Suraj since the beginning of DABH 😆...and Suraj has already demonstrated his super human abstaining powers with his own wife...so what is a new entry going to do. 😆

So to sum it up...I'm actually glad the focus of the show is shifting to SurYa and their relationship. I mean after Sandhya becomes an IPS officer...unless they revamp the show into something like 24...we'll get tired after the 2nd or 3rd thief she busts.

So yes the very under utilized Suraj should be brought to the forefront.

And maybe he should see what he missed out on and then realize that it was nothing at all after all. Make sense? 😆 And in the process maybe we can get Sandhya to become a little more unreserved with her husband

He didn't miss out on anything? Sandy was always married to her country and not to him? 😆 His reaction to that really intrigued me when she said DIE DIE!

The first thing that came to my mind was you know the typical...raise your hand to the loved one's mouth...because you can't hear them say the die word. 😆

But you made an excellent observation...Sandhya does become jazbathee and rush into the defending the land of the free and the home of the brave mode.

Suraj's reply was more well thought out, reasonable, and intelligent.

He asked her if she's implying that the officers who survive were any less than those who give their lives..that it is equally if not more important to outwit the life threatening circumstances. And live to fight for your country. Very intelligent...and very mature thinking.

Sandhya has a lot to learn. And I'm glad she gave him credit saying he taught her things she could never learn in books.

Sandhya married to her country...well that's true too...😆

Well then maybe the new entry will to be more challenging to SurYa than I thought. 😈

Hahahahah! Yeah, no no this DABH. Here such things don't even merit one eyebrow being raised. Coz, you know...Sandy has rushed in where angels fear to tread a number of times before. I think Suraj was mentally computing the future ramifications of this need to die.

Nicely written Paddy. Anas is simply brilliant and totally under utilized. After SV2 , he has not had a chance. Maybe now the story will be SurYa centric again. There may well be some gut wrenching moments coming. But I have faith in Suraj's love for Sandhya. I still don't want to see any other woman in the same frame as Suraj though.

I am not understanding Sandy's need for RW. I hope there is a palatable explanation.

Suraj was emotional at the prospect of losing Sandy but he got himself together and gave her the more practical and useful option of fighting for the country.

If Suraj has more scenes like this, I will watch. Yes, Deebz, he gave a slight punched in the guts reaction but masterfully concealed it. These are the bits that do things to my feelings. Else I'm unmoved. Sandy's rewed thing watching the shooting and takes of it made my heart sink to new depths. Looked a lot like she plans the whole thing, tries to get Suraj to tell Bhabo, then packs a lot of shaadi stuff in that red bag...hope it's a disaster. Coz if it isn't... grrr!! Sandy used to be such a dignified character...and now... sad.

I could not watch her trying to make Suraj talk to Bhabho either! She needs some serious waking up to do in the EQ department. But she is still very young. When I consider that she is my daughter's age who I consider still a babe, I feel like giving her a pass. Plus she has been thru hell and back at RM.
