Episode 425 Discussion: 9th Nov 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is

It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. It is entertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. We do not want to feel stifled into that kind of atmosphere here.

There are several other social welfare sites that are there to discuss the genuine issues. If for some reason, it is felt that social concerns have to be addressed and ethical and moral responsibility needs to be exercised for watching entertainment, then; certainly the forum is an open place to create separate ATs and build up that kind of propaganda.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread. Strong words such as psychopaths unless used in show, need not be used to instigate riotous atmosphere or start sermonizing.

POINTERS for Writing/Posting of your reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.
Regulate the font size. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters for no special reason.
The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating/whining/complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum
When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.

TRP Analysis: Week 44, October 27th - November 2nd, 2013

The two charts below show: 1) Top 15 shows TRPs and 2) TRP increase/drop for those shows, compared to the week prior. The blue bars on the second chart are the ones that did better, the red are the ones that did worse, and the no bars are the ones that were the same. TVTs were used to rank the shows - which I believe does provide an accurate picture of relative rankings.

Note: this is a rough analysis. Please feel free to point out any holes.

2.24 - Saturday, 26th Oct - Madhu keeps quiet in face of teary Radha's shock at Madhu already having breaking the vrat. At studio, Mehul helps Madhu engineer scene where Karan breaks Anamika's fast ritually, and disparages RK to Madhu. RK is furious at the fast-breaking scene, and accuses Madhu of using the scene to even the scores, shuts off the 'Baaho ke darmiyaa' song, is upset at her insistence of her identity being only as his wife. No precap.

Week 44 TRP Breakdown Madhubala

2.13 - Monday, 28th Oct - RM argue in car. At home, Pabho gives Madhu dinner, Radha gives Madhu and her plate a suffering look, leads to Madhu not eating. Pabho cons Madhu into water nivaaran at night. Madhu insists on going out, RK lets her leave, but upset when she does. Pabho gets Madhu to go into pond and chant mantra 5001 times, but herself quietly decamps. Madhu finishes nivaaran and finds Pabho left an excuse-note and dry clothes for Madhu to change into. Pabho tells Dips that her plan will succeed soon. Pabho and Dips happy that Radha is still upset with Madhu in morning. RK changes shoot schedule so that Madhu won't need to do scenes for the day. He sees Madhu looking woebegone is back. Precap: Amar tells Kukku he has found an accomplice to infiltrate Sitara studio, but won't say who it is.

2.19 - Tuesday, 29th Oct - RK changes shoot schedule so that Madhu won't need to do scenes for the day. He sees Madhu looking woebegone is back. He leaves for the set after giving Madhu the day off. Pabho declares to a sleeping, semi-conscious Madhu that she is going to get her out of RK's life. Kukku tells Amar his plans are failing. Amar says he has found an accomplice to infiltrate RK's crew, but won't say who it is. Madhu wakes up, remembers Pabho's words from when she was sleeping, and realizes wants to separate her and RK. Pabho implies Madhu is irresponsible, and Radha fumes about Madhu. Madhu invites Pabho to join her in a ritualistic burning-of-skin nivaaran. Pabho slips up and reveals that the nivaarans were a hoax. Precap: Pabho tells Madhu that RK will choose his mother over Madhu, so best for her to keep quiet. Amar tells someone that nobody must find out you are working for me from RK's crew.

2.28 - Wednesday, 30th Oct - Madhu invites Pabho to join her in a ritualistic burning-of-skin nivaaran. Pabho slips up and reveals that the nivaarans were a hoax. Amar tells someone that nobody must find out you working for me from RK's crew, and tells the person to go on the set. Madhu confronts Pabho for wanting to make Madhu leave the house, and Pabho claims it's for RK. RK has a scene with another actor. Mysterious villain wanders around sets; Simmy and the choreo are also in similar shoes. Pabho tells Madhu that RK will choose his mother over Madhu, so best for her to keep quiet. Madhu says she won't tell RK, and also will never leave RK and the house. New scene where Madhu is supposed to mock-knife RK is explained to Madhu who is very nervous. RK and Mehul reassure her. Scene rehearsed with fake knife, which is secretly exchanged for real one in actual shot. Madhu unknowingly stabs RK with real knife, shot is okayed, and they all walk away. RK removes the knife and passes out. Madhu feels weird but doesn't turn around. Precap: Madhu runs to RK and asks him to open his eyes, but he's unconscious. Everyone rushes to RK, and panicked Madhu tells them to call an ambulance.

2.23 - Thursday, 31st Oct - Pabho tells herself that Madhu leaving is needed for RK's life, and she needs help to ensure it. Madhu sees blood on her hand and RK lying on the floor, runs to him, he's unconscious. Everyone rushes to RK, panicked Madhu tells them to call an ambulance. Pabho tells Radha that Madhu not having done karva chauth properly may harm RK. Madhu et al take RK to hospital. Devastated Madhu blames herself and tells Radha that she stabbed RK with a fake knife which turned out to be real. Pabho blames Madhu for everything. Amar is happy with TV news that RK is critical. Kukku says they wanted to stop RK's film, not this. Amar reveals that Sikki was the one who exchanged the knives. Sikki is nervous that the situation has become serious. Kukku shocked and angry with Amar for using his idiot son as a scapegoat. Pabho incites Radha that Madhu's ill-omens are responsible for all disasters RK has suffered. Madhu hysterically prays to Bappa to not make her fate cause of harm to RK. Radha slaps Madhu, overrides her pleas and and blames her for being root cause for RK's recent imprisonment and previous and current near-death hospitalizations. Precap: RK in coma, doctor says uncertain whether he'll regain consciousness in a few hours, days, months or years.

2.31 - Friday, 1st Nov - RK goes into coma, doctor says uncertain whether he'll regain consciousness in a few hours, days, months or years. Dips asks Madhu why she didn't check the knife. Madhu helps Mehul and Bittuji field press questions. With revelation that Madhu was responsible, fan mob turns on Madhu and hits her with rod. Pabho tries to keep Madhu away from RK, and Madhu strongly faces her down. Police is suspicious of Madhu's involvement and questions Madhu. RK's condition worsens. Radha shuns Madhu. Doctor says they need to operate, Madhu prays to God to make her suffer but make RK well. Precap: Bittuji says "Pabho_", Radha asks what happened to her.

2.26 - Saturday, 2nd Nov - Bittuji comes and says "Pabho_", they ask what happened to her. Pabho at a temple with Dips, priest says walk on hot coals will get wish granted by God. Pabho agrees, Madhu comes and tries to stop her. Pabho insists and tries to do it, messes up, and blames Madhu. Despite Bittuji's pleas not to, Madhu walks on the burning coals herself. RK in operating theatre, doctors give up hope. Madhu completes walk on coals, pours water and applies sindoor on her forehead. RK miraculously comes back from the dead. Doctor comes out and says RK is out of danger, all relax, Bittuji gets informed and tells Madhu. She and Bittuji leave, Pabho and priest both praise Madhu for saving her husband. Amar angry at TV news that RK is fine. Sikki persuades Kukku to help him. RK wakes up, and first thoughts and words are of Madhu. He calls for her, and Mehul tells him Madhu was arrested for attempt to murder RK as someone filed a case against her. Precap: Madhu in jail, happily confirms from policewoman that RK has come. With bandaged feet, Madhu flying to see RK.

More than RK's paralysis, was the cheap 'twist' executed today...😡😡. We will come to that.😡

I liked:

VD's acting once again. Awesome! RK falls while trying to walk towards his costar. Media pounces on him. RK feels humiliated. Madhu helps him to the vanity.
Madhu's speech to the media. Effective, and to the point.
RM scene ..yes, we said this couple does'nt need words to communicate. So we get one more scene where they communicate just with their eyes and their touch. 😳. Emotional, once again brought tears. That is thrice this week😭. Am I watching a daily soap, and am I watching it for entertainment or to cry everyday😆

I hated:

What was that twist?? RK missing?? And then he goes home with Dipali??!! Ok, he does tell her to stop her 'chance pe dance' but too little too late. I can understand why he would not want to be with Madhu for a bit. Her pain and strength makes him vulnerable. He could've called the driver??😡
Radhaji's scene...she is only bothered about her relationship with him. I thought she would try to give him courage the way she did when Madhu wanted a divorce??? At this point, I felt soo sorry for RK, not because of his paralysis, more because he does not have any relationship except Madhu's and maybe Bji that is true to him!! What kind of a life, and what an emotional vacuum he must have been living in.
Mr Murthy..withdrawing the loan???
Paving the way for a heroine oriented film, whatever that may be?? Whatever that might entail??

In general, liked some parts of the episode - specifically, the last part in RK mansion. VD did an amazing job, really tugged at my heartstrings.

RK falls down, is humiliated, and is helped to his trailer, hounded by the media, which is now writing the epitaph for RK's film and career. 😭
RK wants some alone time, so sends Madhu off, and Madhu gives a passionate speech to the vile press. Nice job Madhu. 👏
Ok, so RK takes off with Dips in the car. Huh? This is the big mysterious disappearance??? I did like RK's retort putting Dips in her place when she taunts him, saying Madhu would be outraged that her husband is in Dips car - saying that it's Madhu's husband, in Madhu's car (since everything in RK mansion belonged to him.)
Nice caustic words to Dips at RK mansion - saying her chance pe dance was done. 😆
RK drinking, again. Weakling weeping at RK's feet. It's all about herself. Yawn. Yawn. 🥱
Madhu comes back, and in a nice touch, RK mouths the dialogues she would have given him. Those words though had the element of truth, and his sarcasm was but a way to hide his fear and insecurities. I loved though that Madhu reaches for his hand wordlessly, he does not push her aside, and they gradually progress to hugging each other tightly. And RK cries in a teary Madhu's arms again. To the BG of that song. Aww. 😭
🤢 On bank's threatening to yank support.

The Precap: Madhu to RK, lets make it a heroine centric movie. 🤢

Pakeezah was released on feb 4th 1972 and meena kumari died on march 21st 1972. Her death was imminent even when the decision to make pakeezah was dobe. Infact they decided to make the film precisely because meena kumari didnt have long to live and it was a dream project which never materialized due to the strained relation between her and her husband.. as she was too sick she was nit in a condition to dance, in a film based on a courtesan who dances.. the dances were done by a duplicate.. that doesnt take away anything from MK's performance..
During goblet of fire in one of the action scenes which was being done by harry's body double he met with an accident which left him disabled witg no use if his legs for life. If things had happened the way its happening in this show it would now be daniel radcliffe in his place..
even general public with minimal knowkedge of film making are aware of certain facts.. not every scene is shot in one take like in this show... where is tge use of body doubles.. what is tge need to show rk stabd up?? When camera focusses on him he can be already standing.. there r hubdred cuts during shooting a scene,. If one clip is from one take then anotger from a different take which r tgen edited,, seems here cinematographer abd editor are not required as tge camera is stagnant in one place covering the whole set and the scene takes place start to finish in one taje.. why csnt rk standing be tajen from his back with body double standing..
Tgey ciuld have had MC let rk decide how to go about the shooting saying we have to do simething where yr condition is not visible on screen and tgen cone up with a plan.. instead they have yhe directir say that there is no option but to scrap his character abruptky abd maje it alk about someone else., this ensures rk wikk not think logicalky abd do stupid things..
because geberal public is aware hiw wrong they r going about the shootibg they wikk nit succeeed in tgeur objective of making this fikm all abiut madhu since rk is invalid...
like soneine mentioned if a person gies tgrough all the hardships that rk is going tgrough then vuewers wilk be happy inly with HIS rise not someobe else's.. now if rk reacta unreasonably out if resentnent fir being sidelined and made ti feel like an invalid then just like previous track where he was forgiven for kudnapping madhu he wilk be forgiven now because tge unfairness dobe to rk wilk stabd out which wikk cause viewers to emphatize with him instead of madhu who is not realky at fault but wilk still yet again not be sympathized.. and no rk succeeding as producer is not compensation as that is not what he WANTS...
please bring some logic into the track wgen u have actors who can carry off anything the writers disappoibt each time with ckunk..

I want to say just Two things today !!

1) Madhubala...Ek Ishq Ek junoon is truly ALAG CHE Show . I am proud to be MBian becozz First Time Any showis showcasing a Superstar's Professional & personal life so Beautifully ..With All Emotions .I SALUTE U CT's for this 👍🏼 👏

2) VIVIAN DSENA ... What An Actor..What An Actor!! Truly BEAUTIFUL and WONDERFUL and Truly AWESOME ⭐️

P.S Don't know about Others . But I am Truly Loving and enjoying the Show , Current Track and VD's Brilliant Acting 👏. Thatzz Different that Everyday I am ended up Crying by seeing him like this 💔 😭 😭

Felt sorry for Rk today although I know he was stubborn in letting the press attend shooting but we all know why he did that, he was trying to prove to himself and everyone else that he can do it.

I didn't take his breakdown at home as a weakness, we all can get such feeling, imagine being paralysed and even with this paralysis you still want to do your job but you just realise that you can't and that you have become helpless, it's already hard to be paralysed but adding all the other "clunky majbooris😡", it even becomes harder, so I have no complaints about Rk's behaviour today, it's hard for a strong and proud person as him to live with this paralysis

I loved the way Madhu answered the journalist, finally she spoke up, if she tried lovingly to convince Rk before shooting, all this might have not happened but the question is would he have listened, yet I would have liked her to try.

Another point which is getting each time pushed further is the heroine centric movie, I guess we are heading towards that, Rk will give up soon or later to this, I know many have suggested to adapt the script to Rk's condition, to use special effects, body doubles...but all this didn't happen and as per what they showed it might never happen, and to be honest, I won't blame Rk if he agrees after all, many things are at stake, his house, his finances, I know that the bank's pressure on him is a pure stupid clunk given the fact that the bank normally gives importance to deadlines and garantees and doesn't interfere in other matters, but I guess this subject has been discussed a lot of times, I won't blabber further about it.

Let's take the situation as it was presented letting aside all the clunky things : Rk is paralysed, he can't shoot the original script scenes, he has many things at stake, he should find a solution and the only solution suggested now is the heroine oriented track, that doesn't mean he won't be the main lead anymore, it's just that action scenes will be substituted with romantic scenes, depending on these scenes Anamika might be more highlighted instead of Karan who would have been more highlighted in the action scenes, but then also a romantic scene doesn't mean that only the lead female is the one who will have a more powerful role, actually I still can't understand this point which stipulate that romantic scenes are only heroine centric and not hero centric or equally focusing on both, if anyone can explain this more I would be pleased to read their opinion.

Anyway now that I made myself with all this, I'll just wait and see what happens next, Ok, they will make the film heroine centric, what's next?!!, Rk's downfall?, Madhu overnight sensation? or will it be something else as Rk successful producer and Madhu wonderful heroine, and after that Rk's recovery and come back as a superstar and some optimistic things!!!????

I wish they could show something really intelligent but I think I just made myself with the idea that this might not happen and that I should enjoy Rishbala's chemistry and to make this track digestible, just overlook the clunky majbooris and see the situation as they present it, Rk being paralysed, having many things at stake, so he makes concessions although these concessions won't serve his initial purpose but at least he will not lose his money and he might at least come out successful as a producer.Now, Do I really like that scenario, No!, I would prefer them to preserve his status of a superstar as much as him becoming a successful producer but do I have any choice if I still want to enjoy Rishbala, No!! so I will just keep hoping since it's the last thing that one loses😊

I edited the scenes precisely of the three last episodes😆 I'll upload them tomorrow morning😊
