If I was in Zoya's shoes, I would be very sad and a bit angry. I would have preferred being wished first. The surprise party would make it even more sweeter.

But suppose if he did and if you are being this girly girl, then the first thing that comes in your mind is, okay he wished me so whats next. The girl will automatically start to ask questions or suggesting, lets go do this or do that... So far, all clear?</font>

Being wished at midnight and wishing people at midnight is my thing. My whole family , my parents and siblings ... Right from my childhood , we had this midnight thing. Then friends and BF's came into the picture. I am a sucker for wishing at midnight... Just a simple Happy Birthday will do.

Personally am not a fan of surprise birthday party for myself , but I have done it for others many times.😆
