Muharram is the first month of Islami calendar...it is considered as one of the three most sacred months(ramadan, muharram and zil-hajj)
Like Hindus celebrate diwali in a grand manner it is something we avoid in Muharam actually we avoid celebration because we have the Death anniversary of the grandsons of our last Prophet(PBUH)
I won't be able to tell it in quite alot of detail because i am a sunni and the Shia tribe would know more about it...
PS: for those who don't know the difference b/w Sunni and Shia...Although both the tribes are Muslims but their belives varry a little bit...
PPS: i have given a brief description about the importance of Muharram...it is actually the basic info.

As Shia from uk I tell u...Like in the previous post, it's a sad month. In fact I am not allowed to watch tv on the big nights coming up. From about Saturday to Friday I wnt be watching tv. We stop listening to music in this month and no trips abroad. We have to go for 12 days to mosque. One thing is certain that they will not show the month most likely. Zoya celebrating her birthday here but sadly my birthday falls on the most important10th night of ashura so I won't be able to celebrate it. I will take photos of me and pretend I cut a cake though. For the whole of muharam and safar, the next month, I am not allowed to c movies in cinema probably cz I am from more religious family... I'm sure zoya would love to with her mr khan.

I am quite very sure that they won't show it...
When they don't show such an important night i.e: Shab-e-baraat so why would they show Ashura or the entire month of Muharram??
PS: no offence meant..
