Sony TV in the valley to hunt new talent Security personnel deployed in insurgency-hit Jammu and Kashmir today got an opportunity to tap their foot to some popular Hindi film numbers in the company of Amit Sana and Meenal Jain of 'Indian Idol' fame.
Sana and Jain, who participated in the first and second editions of popular talent hunt TV show 'Indian Idol', entertained the CRPF personnel with their songs.
The security forces had requested the channel to organise a show in their camp at Budgam, officials said.
The singers are here in connection with the Sony Entertainment Television's hunt for third edition of Indian Idol. The channel will organise an audition for boys and girls here tomorrow.
"This is a great chance for young boys and girls of the valley to prove their singing talent," said Shola Raja Chandra, head of the publicity wing of Sony.
The shortlisted candidates will be called for final audition to the nearest main audition centre, she said.
"We have come here with goodwill and are confident that people of Kashmir will cooperate with us. We are hunting for one more Qazi Tauqeer from here," she said.
Qazi was declared winner of the talent hunt show of Gurukul fame sponsored by Sony last year.
Meanwhile, the Al-madana militant outfit has imposed ban on any such audition.
