Thing is that most of us are fed up with the script writers and direction, whose poor performance didn't allow these actors to bring out their talent before us. They could have done really better otherwise, and would have won lot of awards, who knows.

Repetitive dialogues was the most irritating part.

Headline: 13th The ITA Awards
Year : 2013
Location : Reliance Studio at Mumbai's iconic Film City.
The Event
On 23rd October, '13, the Reliance Studio at Mumbai's iconic Film City saw a gala of great razzmatazz unfolding in its promises. Indeed, the venue was ablaze with glitz and glamour as the Television fraternity lived it up at its annual festival of joy - The Indian Television Academy Awards.

Now in the 13th year of a highly celebrated existence, these Awards have, today, become the most coveted stamp of merit in the medium. This year, the theme of the evening was Diwali that reflected itself in the lustrous set with shimmering lamps and a sumptuously ornate dcor. Admist the razzle-dazzle exploded the biggest night of the Small Screen in the presence of the who's who of TV-industry.

Actually, since its very inception, the ITAA has been the toast of the world of Television, what with the entire spectrum of Channels and Production-houses participating in it. This year, the Entries of shows in the fray touched an all time high. Not only this, the ITAA is also a big time favourite with TV-watchers as is evident from the fact that in this year's Popular Poll segment, some 7 lakh plus viewers voted for their favourites.

The Awards were punctuated by jaw-dropping performances by TV-heartthrobs like Ruslan Mumtaz, Deepika Singh, Hina Khan, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Manish Raisinghani, Paridhi Sharma, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Lauren Gotlieb, Mukti Mohan, Eijaz Khan, Jay Bhanushali, Disha Parmar and others.

There were also roaring performances by veterans like, Neelu Waghela, Ashok Lokhande, Jayati Bhatia and Sooraj Thapar.

As the Stars rocked, the TV community had a blast while the Bests' of the year were decorated with The ITA Honours.

The event was hosted by the incredibly popular Kapil Sharma with Ragini Khanna & Karan V Grover. Kapil Sharma had the audience in splits with his rip roaring comic acts and impromptu jokes. Kapil\'s show \'Comedy Nights with Kapil\' also bagged two popular awards - best comedy show & best actor (comedy). The popular award for best actor was won by Karan Singh Grover, while Devoleena Bhattacharjee won the best actress Popular award. The best actress jury award went to Jeniffer Winget, while Anas Rashid won the best actor in the Jury category. Best serial drama (JURY) category won by \'Ek Veer ki Ardaas...Veera\" and best serial popular won by Qubool Hai.

Says Anu Ranjan, President, The ITA, Year after year, we have seen the whole of Television community being one with The ITA Awards. It really humbles us no end to see this unqualified trust and goodwill reposed in the endeavour that actually is of Television, by Television and for Television. The Awards are entering the teens this year and that has only meant as a challenge to us to keep bettering ourselves in celebrating the glory of Indian Television!'

Shashi Ranjan, Convenor, The ITA elaborates further, The ITA Awards have been the biggest window to TV's glory. As the medium has grown, so have the Awards along with it. And we are truly, truly overwhelmed by the fact that, today, we are regarded as the only and only platform to accord genuine recognition to excellence on Television. It's not just an event, it is the festival of the whole of TV-fraternity!'
