Shiv's weakness or concern is not his family. Where was his concern for family when they were expecting him to marry Ashima and he announced he wanted Anandi? Where was his concern for family when they expressed reservations about Anandi and Singhs? Where was his concern when he shouted at Sanchi and Ira?
Where was his concern when he trudged along or ignored things only to jump in bed with Anandi?

His main concern is his EGO.

First it was about defending HIS OWN choice of a wife.

Now it is about asserting his pride, showing no one can mess with him and get away, take revenge and salvage his own hurt EGO - how he got fooled, how he couldn't see blunder building up and how come anyone could reject his sister. His ego is hurt when he is told of Sanchi's truth too which is why to protect his ego he starts talking like Ira and accuses Anandi of conspiracy or snarls - "you mean it's Sanchi's fault?!"

Seeing his behaviour now, I think he was being patient with Anandi after marriage also only because he wanted to tame her and possess her in totality.

He is not a family man. He is a failure who is sometimes only husband, sometimes only a son and after ages suddenly he thought he had some duty as brother also.

Seetha BV has always been a serious and thought provoking show which we can see the glimpsis in our day to day life, but introduction of Shiv and his family and the way shiv Anandi relation progressed was some what like fairy tale which BV has destroyed by replacement and further by introducing SanChi's character. In future episodes they will justify their actions also and we viewers may accept it but by the time damage is already done.
