Sridevi turns down Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor

She may have done diverse roles in the past but looks like Sridevi may have got cold feet towards a film offer for a negative character.
Sources close to the actress say that Sri was offered a film based on Charles Dickens' Great Expectations.
Insiders say Abhishek Kapoor approached her for his next film, Fitoor. Sri had earlier played a character with shades of grey in Judwaa.
A source says, "Everyone is waiting to see what her next film is after English Vinglish. The film has Katrina Kaif as the leading lady.
Sushant Singh Rajput, who was earlier a part of the film, recently walked out of the project. Abhishek wanted Sridevi for a role, which was played by Robert De Niro in the 1998 big screen version of the novel. Abhishek tweaked the script and made it female-oriented." However, a source from the production house says, "Sridevi couldn't be part of the film, as she thought she wasn't the right choice for the role." Abhishek remained unavailable for comment.
