"Damn it" Sakshi thought
She should have known better than to mix her professional and personal life together. It makes life a bit complicated especially when your feelings are not reciprocated. She should have known better than to fall in love with ACP Arjun Rawte.
It wasn't like she wanted to, just that while trying to make him happy it just happened. She knew about Roshni and would do anything to help Arjun find Sikander. But the fact that Arjun was still grieving for Roshni, he wasn't allowing any happiness to come into his life. After Ayesha pointed out to her that she loved him she wasn't sure at first but after a few days she watched him carefully and started to imagine a life with him. It seemed as though her feelings for Arjun were quite obvious because soon Shree, Liza and Chotu knew. They wanted to see Arjun happy again, to see the real him and not this facade he has. They were a bit worried about Arjun not reciprocating Sakshi's feelings but they kept positive and Sakshi had already indirectly told them that she wasn't really expecting anything; she just wanted Arjun to be happy again.
During the bomb incident they had seen that Arjun wasn't just worried about his team member but was worried for Sakshi as a person even though he tried to keep him composure.
After the criminals were caught he took Sakshi to be checked by a doctor for his own reassurance that she was fine. He also took her home and surprisingly missed her usual chatter any time they were in a car together. As they approached her house Arjun didn't really want to leave Sakshi alone and asked her if she was sure she didn't want to stay with Ayesha or Liza, she just shook her head at him and after saying goodbye walked to her little house. Arjun stayed in his car until he saw the lights on and then went straight home instead of going back to ETF headquarters.
As Sakshi lay in bed she couldn't close her eyes as she kept replaying the day over and over again in her head. When she was forced into the car she had no idea what would happen to her. Would they have raped her? Would they have killed her? After she was thrown into the middle of the road and everyone found the bomb attached to her she knew that Arjun would do whatever he could to save her. He had killed the doorbell killer instead of handing him over to the police because he hurt one of his team members and now that she was in trouble he would try to save her because no one messes with an ETF member. His reassurances that she would be fine and telling her to calm down helped her and she knew that if they were not able to fulfil the criminal's demands she wouldn't blame them and would hope that Arjun wouldn't blame himself for her death.
Sakshi was given a week off to recuperate but she said that she would come back in two days as she didn't want whatever happened to affect her work.
Knowing that she wouldn't be able to sleep, Sakshi got up and walked to her living room. The room was quite basic but had little touches of Sakshi to it such as the colourful pillows and trinkets on the shelves.
She sat down on her sofa and turned the television on. As it was late at night nothing was really on so she decided to watch a movie. She had to choose very carefully what she watched. It was a big NO to watch anything with action in it with the day she had. She ended up choosing a few Rom-Coms such as The Holiday, The Wedding Date, Bride and Prejudice, She's the Man and 27 Dresses. The first one she put in her DVD player was The Holiday. She kind of related to the character Iris who pined after her boss only Iris had to endure her boss marrying another woman while Sakshi didn't have to worry about another woman but his addiction to work. While watching the film she started to think about what would happen if she swapped houses with someone in another city or country. She would meet a man like Amanda did... She shook the thought out of her head and instead started thinking about if she did go away for a while Arjun would start to miss her and coming running to her to confess his love for her and they would live happily ever after. Unfortunately that would never happen but she could dream right?
Arjun sat in bed on his laptop doing some work but his mind wasn't in it. Any time he started to write anything or read anything his mind would drift off to Sakshi. Was she okay? Did she need someone? After thinking about her and unable to do any work he packed his stuff away and picked up his phone to phone Sakshi.
Sakshi was in the middle of watching She's the Man when her phone started to ring. She wasn't sure of who would be phoning her at such a late hour. When she looked to see who was phoning her she was shocked. Arjun was calling? She picked up the phone and shakily answered "Hello"
"Sakshi. Are you okay?"
"I'm fine Arjun." Sakshi was a little hesitant to say anything more as she had no idea why Arjun was phoning.
"Then why are you awake at this hour?"
"I...I couldn't sleep. I kept seeing everything that happened today when I closed my eyes" Sakshi didn't know why she said this to him. She could have just said that she was okay and told him goodnight but she didn't.
"How many hours have you been up for?"
"A... A couple of hours. After I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep I decided I would just watch a few movies."
"Damn it Sakshi. Why didn't you phone anyone?" Arjun shouted.
Sakshi jumped at the tone of his voice.
"I... I didn't want to disturb anyone. I mean they have been worried for me the whole day, I don't want to worry them anymore."
"They care for you Sakshi. Everyone at work does." Arjun surprisingly said calmly.
"Even you?" She whispered. She was hoping he would answer her question.
"Yes" He said quietly.
There was an awkward silence until Arjun spoke again.
"I will be at your house in 10 minutes." He demanded
"But..."
"Don't question me. Samjhe ya Samjuan?"
And at that he cut the call.
Sakshi pulled the phone away from her ear and looked at it as if it would answer her unspoken question. Was Arjun really coming to her house?
She knew she only had 10 minutes to clean her house up a bit. She wasn't a messy person but she hadn't had time to clean her house properly in quite a while. She ran to her bedroom to fix her hair and clothes. She was wearing a tank top and pajama bottoms but quickly put on a top over just so that Arjun wouldn't feel uncomfortable.
Just then she heard a car in front of her house and saw the headlights through her window. She walked to her front door and just as she was about to open the door, in came Arjun.
"What? How did you open my door?"
"I have a copy of your house keys? I have a copy of the other team members keys, just incase." Arjun said casually.
"But I never gave you my keys to copy"
"You didn't have to. All I did was take your keys from your bag, made a mould of it and that's it." Anyways you shouldn't be opening your door this late at night so it was better to use your keys."
He then walked around her and sat on the sofa as if he owned the place. Sakshi had paused the film right at where Channing Tatum was shirtless. Arjun turned to Sakshi and gave her a look.
"What? Can't I appreciate the hotness of a shirtless Channing Tatum?"
Sakshi then turned the movie off because that scene would make them both uncomfortable. (If you have seen She's the Man I am referring the when Viola meets Duke in their dorm room and then they see the female product in her boot ;p)
I have not written a FF or OS in a few years. The only writing I have done recently is for my Creative Writing class. I've been hesitant in writing a Arakshi story but decided to just write one yesterday night. The story is not complete yet so I will be posting at least 3 or 4 more parts. I am in my 2nd year of University so I won't be updating straight away, maybe a new part each week?
If you guys do have an ideas you want me to put in my story PM me and I will try to put it in and credit you.
I don't think I will have time to PM you guys when a new part comes up so just look out for my story and in the title I will write that the 2nd, 3rd, 4th part is up.
Also even if your too shy to comment or don't have time just hit the like button so I at least know you guys are reading my story and actually like it 😊
