Yup the marks are on the mandible. And ligature marks don't usually reach that far up in cases of both, homicidal or suicidal hanging. This whole thing seems like a mess. And such half-baked reports are even more misleading.

And yeah...does it look from the pic like her neck has been cut to examine the tissue? I can't see any such marks in the pic.

Most of those pics appear to have been taken by her mom? before she went for forensic examination. And then there is the picture of her before she is buried but her neck is covered up so we can't see.

I've noticed that there are two marks on her neck. One is a thin mark that goes all around her neck (prob the mark from the dupatta). And then there is a very weird circular mark in front of her neck. W*F is that?!
