The person who signed this document is not a doctor and moreover he just examined her photos. So I have my doubts.

The letter isn't the one from the Forensic Experts. I think it's the one the lawyer wrote to the press. It just mentions that forensic experts have gathered evidence that it was a homicide. So, yeah it could be unreliable. But why would anyone risk sending a false letter to the press? Assuming that Dinesh.D.Tiwari is actually a person and not just a false identity.

The news report suggests 'forensic expert Dr R N Jerajani opined that the depth of ligature marks in Jiah's case was difficult to achieve with a soft material.
Jerajani has further opined that the ligature marks on Jiah's neck are not like the ones usually found on the body of a person who hangs self from a ceiling fan. The possibility of strangulation is not ruled out in this case, he said in the forensic report.'

As for why it's all out after four months?

I think it's not like the Forensic dept's doctor is saying from the photos, he must have checked body and made the reports. And Jiah's mom has released this details now because she might not wanted to claim it as murder just after Jiah's death.

I am not sure but Jiah looks quite normal in this CCTV video which is(said to be) recorded just before her death.

Dunno what exactly is going on here...But why wasn't this released earlier? The experts couldn't have taken these many months to examine a body. They usually have a stipulated time.

I don't think the experts mentioned here are the official ones. From the article it looks like the photos were sent to some other forensic expert who wasn't given the task to examine the body from the police. And this expert must have confirmed about the murder by examining the body and the marks as shown in the photographs.

Reg. the scars on her neck. As she is seen without clothes wrapped in a white sheet, I think this pic was taken after the post mortem was done. And I'm not too sure but I had seen a video of an autopsy and they cut the neck to remove the lungs and the other organs so the scar marks are usually seen because of that. Don't know...can be anything! Wonder how did the media stop reporting about this when they went on reporting about Arushi like for two long years.

The neck is also cut to examine the tissue underneath it, which is essential in cases of strangulation, ligature hanging etc. It helps to differentiate too. If it is death by strangulation it should have been picked up; I read two post mortems were done.
I am a little confused abt what is happening here, I for one am unable to understand which marks of belt on neck they are talking about. The marks I can see are in the mandible region, not in the neck. The saliva marks are not clear from the side of the face shown.
Is there any other medical student here?

You are right about that.
If indeed this a homicide then shouldn't she have some clue under her nails, some retaliation sign?
Suicide : After the fracture she must've been dangling for hours, with chin pointed outwards hence the deposition of blood in the mandible area.

From the pictures its hard to make out stuff though.

the post mortem was done months back- wasn't it concluded back that it was suicide and isn't the post mortem an effective way of determining the cause of death?
this news does not seem very reliable!

If this is true... How the hell did the police miss this?!

I just saw the pictures if it is real then why couldn't the police look into it. With those kinda marks it doesn't look like suicide from any angle. 😕
