King Khan: Is the Magic Fading?

I know that majority here will have a shocked expression on your faces on reading the title of this topic.. But trust me, this topic is just another Discussion Topic coming your way, so feel free to read others' minds, feel free to put across your points…

Friends, I have been a huge fan of SRK… So it actually comes as a shocker to me that of all people, I am posting this topic. In any case, I am just pointing out certain facts that come to my mind… Please feel free to comment and discuss, let us have a nice time debating…

SRK has been a star, has been the Baadshah of Bollywood, has been the King Khan who has ruled over the Bollywood for more than 10 years now.. So he has seen all the success , is seeing success even now.. But oflate, SRK seems to have changed… The way he behaves, the way he talks, all is so different…

I was forced to make this post here, after seeing him yesterday, anchoring the 52^nd Filmfare Awards. My god!!! 😕This guy seems to be so so insecure.. 😭His only motto nowadays is to listen from one and all that "HE is the King Khan, the greatest of all"… He has been promoting himself so much in KBC too… Yesterday was the limit… He took a dig into all other actors… did not leave a stone unturned…

He called himself to be a "Desperate Actor"… Come on SRK, you have reached the heights of greatness, please be more dignified in the way you present yourself.. Life has its own Ups and Downs, but the real star is the one who takes his down path sportingly and comes out of it, proving to all in terms of his great work… I maybe one of the very few who has been a big fan of both Big B and SRK… Yes, i like both of them and love their acting.. But I also knew that SRK had to go a long way to even tell the world that he is on par with Big B in terms of acting… This is a fact.. But SRK had his own way of acting, he did roles that looked good for him.. He emerged as a winner, won all hearts and was on top for a long span of time… If at all, I liked another actor other than Big B it was and is SRK… But now, even a die-hard fan of his, like me, can see the change in SRK's attitude…

In yesterday's show, this was so obvious.. One can crack a joke once or twice, but not throughout the show which lasted for nearly 4 hours…One can have a spoof about another actor, but can this be the theme of a big show, larger than life show like Filmfare Awards? He seemed as though he is ready to do anything and everything to stay on top… He told Hrithik that with the success of Koi Mil Gaya, he almost pulled him(SRK) down.. He called Abhishek on stage, tried to talk to him on Dhoom, when the fact remained that all and sundry know that Abhy was totally overshadowed by Hrithik in the film… Abhishek was so polite and nice in his answers.. SRK then humiliated Aamir Khan by trying to tell all that he is present, pretended to talk to Aamir on the film Rang De Basanti, made a mockery of the big big star Aamir… SRK could have just said in a one liner that the saga of Aamir's invisibility in Awards function continues.. But no, he had to make a mockery of his absence.. Come on, SRK needs to respect Aamir for the big star he is today.. It is a fact that Aamir has done more challenging and demanding roles than SRK.. Even SRK might know this fact.. It is only when you give respect, you can demand respect.. Isnt it?

SRK did not stop at this. He tried to ridicule Vidhu Vinod Chopra too. Vidhu gave him a fitting reply and even sounded serious when he said that," Shahrukh, it does not mean that you should talk like this if I don't cast you in your film…" Come on, Shahrukh, live like the star you are !!! You are really losing the respect and status that you have gained by your hard work.. Please do not lose it bcos of your insecurity complex..

SRK at one point told that "It looked as though he was demented".. So sad!!! A person who has come up the hard way, a person who has been the heart-throb of millions, to stoop down to such a level bcos he is now feeling insecure is so pathetic to watch…

SRK even advised Javed Akhtarji not to teach the younger generation a lot, about the skill of writing . He said that agar aap yeh karenge toh hum logon ka kya hoga??? OMG!!!

Thank god, SRK was a bit wise enough to take a resolution, but wonder whether he will follow it.. He told all that he takes a resolution today, never to do a remake of a Big B film. He said, Amitji, please forgive me, I will never ever attempt to do your film again. You are the original and will always remain the original.. Infact, the whole packed house clapped to this…

Everything that SRK did was so obvious that even Juhi Chawla , a person who admires and respects SRK so much, told SRK that the last time she saw him praise anyone was "Himself".. How bad can this get??? This has now reached a level where his own colleagues, his own costars, the people who know him so well, have understood what SRK is trying to project to all..

Friends, what do you think about all this? Do you think that SRK should concentrate more on his work now and again show the world that he is really the King Khan, or is he right in telling the world to keep chanting his own mantra always? Don't you all think that the best way to hit back against a criticism is by means of work? What are your thoughts on this?

Friends, this topic was made by me, not bcos I like some other actor and I dislike SRK. As I said before, I too admired SRK, but today, I find a big change in him.. Hence I put forth this discussion topic. Feel free to write. Feel free to debate, let us talk about this matter and argue.

But please note, let us be clean and clear in whatever we write. No fights between members, let us have this as a healthy discussion… So what are you all waiting for? Just start writing..

I dunno.... I saw SRK yesterday and couldn't take my eyes off of him of course! 😳 but... what you're also saying may be true. There was a certain change, i think he's doing it by himself, with the exception of trading the spot with Karan... the lines he had this time to say were not that great..... but i dun think he was demeaning anyone either... or maybe i heard it wrong??

I dun think that he has a big ego at all...... my dad was saying he's not a good host and that's the reason! 😆 but anyways... hmmm..!!

Of course that thing from Juhi, i think was a joke, and not intended to show some truth in it.

About what he said to Javed... did that come out wrong, maybe?..... but yah, even i was a bit surprised in hearing it! 😕

With the Aamir thing, i took that as a joke because of course, he has never come to any awards and i think SRK was just having some fun.... but definitely, although he was still dashing and handsome and mine yesterday, there was a change in the way he talked..!! About his work, he is doing lot of films this yr, nah... desperation? hmm... there's no need for him to be desperate, so i dun think he is...

Too many things to say and i can't put it in words! so sholly if this is confusing!

A lot of it had to do with the script definitely..... in fact i would say majority..!!

Umm i feel more of the show was scripted....
na ya something came on the spot itself too.. like vidhu vinod chopra thingy..

but those questions asked to hrithik, abhi it was part of script for sure.. otherwise why wud he come on the cable on top???
it was surely scripted how he had to do it.. id say

and obviously juhi's part was scripted for show.. coz from how srk started felt like it was a joke only..

dunno much to say coz ive not been a srk fan.. neither i watch KBC 😊

I thought Shahrukh Khan was marvelously funny along the lines of my favourite comedian Ellen Degeneres who hosted the Oscars tonight. She poked fun at so many esteemed members of Hollywood, race and laughed at herself. In India we are still not able to differentiate good humor and sarcasm. I thought Shahrukh was extremely funny. Strictly my opinion.

well, ya, even i felt most of the show was scripted. the parts with juhi, n d ones bout who 2 call on stage to talk bout da film. i guess since dey already called hrithik 2 talk bout krissh dey culdnt call him agn 2 talk bout dhoom 2.n oder den hrithik,abhi was d only oder actor in d film. 😛 but d crazy part was,hrithik gt nominated 4 best actor 4 d2 AND krissh, but i dont think abhi did.. 😕 (or maybe m jus 4getting.. 😕 )
d thing wid amitabh bachchan, i agree, srk overdid. maybe once,maybe twice, but he repeated d whole thing thruout d show. even while reading javed akhtars lifetime acheievement paward part,wen he had 2 repeat amitabhs dialogues,he AGN sed d same thing, n it was overdone... 😕
bout vidhu vinod chopra,ya even i was shocked as 2 why srk took a dig at him like dat..dat was pretty rude.
n wid aamir, i guess dat was scripted. whoeer scripted it was mad, coz everyone neway knows aamir never attends an award function. dey culd jus hav gt srk 2 say dat instead of playing up like dat.
one more thing i noticed, dey were playing up shilpa shetty's big brothr act a lot. even karan in d beginning n srk later on..

i dunno wats going on, but ya, srk seemed changed yesterday. he seemed completely different frm d srk who anchored d awards before...

im a huge fan of SRK's and yea i think that most of those jabs were scripted and to be taken as a joke if others had done it ppl would have taken it as funny but mabye that srk did it was like he was trying to show that he was the best
i dont think that srk is insecure about his status and the jabs were probably just jokes but yea sometimes hes a little selfobsessed 😆 lol

Exactly, i 100% agree with your last statement.. Its not that we saw SRK anchoring Filmfare for the first time..Infact, he has been a splendid host, infact loved Saif and SRK the last two times, all was so funny and witty. But now, everything appears to have a sidekick to it..

Yes, many things appeared to be scripted, but again, i would say that they were scripted bcos SRK wanted it that way.. 😕 There seems to be a sudden change in the way he presents himself, in the way he expresses himself before all.. 😕😕

he cracked a lousy joke at Amar Singh and then followed it up by saying " I am demented...."

Not everyone can understand his brand of humour...he has been like this from the beginning...its not like he has suddenly started feeling insecure...

Well interesting topic I must say!!

I think SRK humour was mindblowing.. It was really nice and funny and I think it shld be taken in a rite spirit.. THe whole idea of tht comic act was to make everyone laugh and make the award show v livley and I think no one can do tht better than him.. Lot of times we have seen others hosting and tryin to sound funny when it just feels that they are reading out their script but when SRK say things ua ctually cant help but laugh..

I think all this while he was purposely making fun of him and I think everyone enjoyed.. With him overdoing with Amitabh its lik Amitabh and SRK are being compared a lot and Amitabh always has immense dignity to retort to such childish act. I think Don and then KBC had made everyone believe tht SRK is just following Amitabh's footstep. so he was just kind of lil offbalanced there..
But overall I think SRk rocked the show and his sense of humour is amazing.. Its not easy for everyone to take jokes and Vidhu Vinod Chopra is bit cynical so I think lets not get into that!!
