I'm regular viewer of the ACHPM, but mostly a silent reader here!! But I love the show, love the actors, love the concept, everything! 😛
First of all, kudos to all the actors for portraying their common characters in a manner that makes them so larger than life... Two thumbs up to the creative team of the show, for making this show refreshingly difeerent from the others... Yes, I do love the usual saas-bahu saga, but once in a while, we all need a break, dont we? 😉 ACHPM provides just that! 😊
What I wanted to talk about was today's episode and how true to life it was...
Isn't it sad how sometimes, we don't think twice about dashing others dreams to the ground? It may be a small dream - for a child , to climb to the very top of the jungle gym; for someone to try out for something new; In Mrs. Gupta's case - it was just to sit for an exam...
Mrs Gupta's dream is a small one... Surely by fulfilling it, no one should have a problem... Yet her family selfishly tries to obstruct her... Rahul & gang - because everyone would think they were stupid if she wrote the exam and passed it... Her elder son (Naresh, I think his name is??) thinks he is the most educated person in the family, and wants to keep it that way... And Mr Gupta? Mr Gupta is just ashamed... Ashamed of his wife's quest for knowledge at the age of 55...
What stuck me most was Naresh's lack of support... As a mother, Mrs Gupta always supported him whenever he wanted, just as any mother would... He even went through a few moments of indecision, which his father did not support, but his mother did - wholeheartedly and without regret... And she made him what he is today - an MBA graduate with a good job... Yet he didn't think twice about breaking his mother's dreams... A dream that did not even require that she pass the exam... All she wanted was to sit for it!
Why does the society impose rules upon those who wish to think out of the box? And if they do, why do we not even hesitate before laughing cruelly (just like the ladies did at first, and Mr Gupta did later) when someone confesses a long supressed secret wish? Isn't it sad how we just cruelly dismiss other deepest dreams and don't even feel the slightest guilt...??
What I am glad for is that there were characters like Urmi, Sandeep, Rose and later Rahul (who I was hoping for the most!!!) who saw that dreams can be seen and achieved, regardless of age or magnitude... Nothing is too big to achieve...
Looking forward to see more of "Sapna Sakaar Andolan" !
