The actress that previously played Ruqaiyya, Smilie Surie, had chemistry with Tokas. She wasn't beautiful but the way she looked at Jalal and the way Jalal looked at her told you that Jalal was mad about her, and that Jodha would have had a hard time prying them apart.

Was disappointed when they put in a new actress. Tandon is pretty but there is no chemistry.

Lavina has Panache! She looks most beautiful as a mughal begum than any of her other roles!

Yes because of her white skin & green eyes, Lavina looks perfect as a Mughal high ranking Begum. But as the person in one of the posts said, the way Smilie's Ruqaiyya looked at Rajat's Jalal & he looked at her, there was some sort of a pull. She never even objected that Jalal had gone off to Amer though she knew it wasn't only for political purposes because she saw the expression in his eyes.

There was something about their pairing that would've made it for me , very difficult to choose between J-R & J-J. The way Smilie portrayed her character, reminded me of the real Ruqaiyya Begum. She would've much like this! Smilie portrayed perfectly. I don't know how people can say she didn't.

Lavina plays her over-spoilt. No grace, lan, panache & charisma. Like a bejewelled Persian cat , always yowling & scratching!
