MEET THE FOUR DEBUTANTES
The leading ladies of Potugadu, tell Hyderabad Times how each character plays a crucial part in the film
ANU PRIYA
Anu Priya plays the girl who turns Manoj's life on its head. "I play a strong-headed Christian girl. There is a twist in my characterisation and it will come as a surprise to the audience," says the actress, adding, "The music is going to be the biggest asset of the movie that offers romance, glamour and entertainment. All four leading ladies have equally important roles to play and aren't just glam props."
Anu Priya is all excited about making the transition from theatre to the silver screen. "I was in Hyderabad on personal work when I was offered the movie," she recalls adding, "I readily agreed to take up the movie because of the technicians and the banner. It's been a wonderful experience and the producer has pampered us like little girls. I couldn't have hoped for a better launch for my career."

SAKSHI CHAUDHARY
This Mumbai-based beauty pageant winner is debuting as a "bubbly village belle" who falls for Manoj in the movie. "Manoj and director Pavan saw my portfolios and called me for an audition. I am playing a Muslim girl who takes care of her father. She falls in love with Manoj, but he keeps avoiding her," says the actress who is seen in the Pyar Mein Padipoya song. "It's a fun number sung by Manoj. It's an absolute riot and will have the audience in splits" recalls Sakshi, adding, "I just can't wait to watch myself on the 70mm."

Former Miss India, Simran Kaur Mundi, will be making her Tollywood debut with this film. Speaking about her character in the movie, Simran says, "I play a traditional Brahmin girl, named Vaidehi. I will be seen donning half saris with two plaits and gajra. It is a completely different look from all my previous movies. I think this the best on screen look I have had till date." Elaborating on why she chose this de-glam character, Simran says, "Actually, Viadehi's innocence is what drew me to the character. She is simple at heart and I loved that. Playing a Brahmin girl was different. I did some homework before starting on the film. But to my surprise, it was a cakewalk. Potugadu is an out-an-out commercial film " complete paisa vasool!"

RACHEL
Originally from the UK, Rachel plays Manoj's foreign love interest. In the movie, she is a tourist who is in love with all things Indian. Thanks to a quirk of fate, she enters the protagonists' life. She is the surprise element in the movie.
