Aditi... these lines were superb..👏

I am blown away by how well you have portrayed both of them in their pain.

It is absolutely riveting now to see how they are with each other. Lives in parallel headed towards each other. Both in pain. He is still thinking about how to ease her pain, how to give her closure.

It will not be so easy to disguise things in front of each other and also in front of Dev.

Looking forward to reading more soon.

Part- 19-A

Flights are boring. Geet grimaced, especially if you are travelling alone. But then she did not really have any options. It was the last minute con-call that she had to attend that made her leave her flight at last moment ditching Meer and Yash.

She was glad it was over as the flight landed smoothly. She waited for the next few minutes and slowly stepped down the stairs and kept her first step in Vizag after three years.

A familiar pain surrounded her being as she found herself standing in the same place she promised never to return back to. She made her way to the baggage belt and waited for her luggage. Suddenly her breath got hitched; she felt a familiar prick at her back as if that particular someone was watching her. She did not have this feeling for four years now. She looked back trying to find HIM. But he was nowhere to be found. She shook her head and thought," Not even five minutes have passed and I am already hallucinating about him. This place is messing with me in worst way already..."

She took her trolley and went towards the exit. "Vizag, here I come."

Meera and yash stood outside with a smiling pinky. Pinky ran to geet and hugged her," Oye geetu!!!! Am so happy you are here!!! I missed you so much yaar!!!"

"Missed you too pinky!!!"

"See na!!! I missed you soo much I even started having less chocolates..."

Watching the cutest ever pout of geet and seeing that she made this statement while nibbling a half eaten dairy milk geet smiled. For the first time in 4 years geet smiled from heart Meer sighed in relief as she whispered to yash," Yash!!! After all it wasn't a bad idea to bring geet back in Vizag. I was right, she had left a part of her here and she can get that back only here."

"Don't worry Meer!!! We will get our geetu back and I will kill that person who had hurt her soo much to begin with..."

A loud laugh caught all their attention. A geeky guy with large specs approached them. He stood directly in front of geet and said," Finally I meet you miss geet!!! I am Adi!!! "

"Hello Adi!!! It feels great to finally meet you Adi... so you were the one who stole our cutie pie's heart?"

"I would like to put it as a mutual thing.. We both stole each others' heart promising to keep it safe."

The words were taking geet long back in past when she had been a different geet as if a lifetime ago... She did not want to get back there and forced a smile as she said," Should we get going then?"

Adi answered," No, geet. We are expecting my best friend as well. So you guys get going... I will come later."

Pinky sighed in relief and said," Yes geet, come along."

All the four of them just left the airport. Adi smiled and bid them goodbye and muttered," Maan, you idiot. What the hell are you still doing inside when your flight had landed almost an hour back? "

Maan watched geet's retreating back. He had seen her the moment she had stepped inside the baggage belt arena. She looked so different. His geetu had grown up to be a beautiful woman yet it pained him deeply to watch are so aloof, so lifeless. He waited for her but soon felt like she had sensed him and hid behind a book shop. He thought ruefully," Geetu, why do you still love me? I don't deserve it, any of it."

He watched her leave and heaved a sigh knowing he had just stalled their meeting a bit. He would have to meet her.

Adi saw maan coming out yet he could sense something was not right. He went ahead and hugged maan saying," What man?? You made me wait so much?"

"Do I hear you whining? What are you, in kindergarten?

"Stop being the stupid CEO all the time Maan..."

"Mr. CFO, You are speaking to your best buddy here!!!!"

"I am glad!!!"

"What?"

"Maan, you are smiling. This place has again done its magic on you. You are back."

Maan was quiet. He did not tell Adi that it wasn't the place but a glimpse of his life that made him alive again. He patted adi and said," Let's get going."

Geet entered pinky's house. All those years ago she had spent numerous fun-filled weekends here. Meer touched geet slightly bringing her back to the present. After the initial pleasantries geet and meera headed for the guest room.

Only moments later there was sound of a car.

Pinky's father spoke," I guess that would be Adi beta with your boss."

"Yes papa."

Pinky was about to rush outside when they saw both the men entering. Maan respectfully greeted pinky's parents and said," Thank you sir for permitting me to stay here."

"It was absolutely our pleasure Mr. Khurana."

"Call me Maan.I am much younger to you."

"Only if you call me uncle instead of Sir"

"Sure uncle."

Maan was happy. He felt like he had gone back to his college days. He felt carefree. He said to himself," Oh geetu. Only you can make all the anguish vanish away just by a glimpse."

Pinky said maan in an unsure voice," Umm Maan sir, I will show you your room."

"Pinky, I am not your boss here. I am best friend of your husband."

Pinky smiled and said," Please come this way."

Once out of the hearing range of others pinky turned to maan and said," Veerji, I know I should not say you this but Geet is here. I would appreciate if you tend to stay away from her. She had already cried over you once. I don't want her to break again. Please do not get me wrong."

"I understand completely Pinky. I am sure geet is lucky to have you as her friend."

"No veerji, I am luckier."

Pinky smiled and left. Maan shook his head and headed towards shower. It was a long day and this is just the beginning. After a long shower maan came out and stood watching outside. He had thought he would be able to handle but no, it was difficult. And he knew the only place which could give him solace. He got ready and left without informing anyone.

The place was same yet different. Previously the roaring sound of the sea provided him solace was now making him guilty for his thousands of broken promises...for hurting her who had loved him unconditionally.

He walked by the shore without really noticing anything. He had not noticed how the twilight had turned into a dark night. It was a moonless night and maan could not help but remember the last time he was with geet. He was quite absent minded and did not really notice where he was going when he suddenly collided with someone. A sharp yelp from the other person brought him back from his stupor and he immediately tried holding the person to break the fall. He could not really see but he did not need to. He could recognise her anywhere in this world. He steadied her a bit and slowly made her stand on her feet. The way she stiffened told him that she had recognised him as well. She raised her head and slowly opened her eyes. Maan flinched at the sight of her lifeless eyes which once used to speak volumes to him. A cold voice spoke, "Thank you Mr. Khurana." Maan helplessly watched her walk away without turning back.

Maan shook his head and thought," My punishment had started but it was worse than I imagined."

Geet left the place as quick as possible."Why why why? Why did he have to come in front of me? And why do I still feel for him so much? Wasn't all the things he said enough that this heart can still skip beats for that man?"

Geet flinched as she was attacked by the unwanted memories of past. She controlled herself even as she hailed an auto to go back. She has come here to be a part of pinky's wedding. She is here to be a friend and she will be just that. She will keep her traitor heart in control. That obnoxious man has no power over her emotions. Anyway it's less likely that they will meet. He and she belong to different worlds and their worlds can never meet.
