Walima is the only proper FEAST after marriage which a Groom gives to his and bride's family and freinds to tell all that he is now married...it is something done by THE PROPHET (S.A.W) on his daughter's marriage so its the only Valid rasm in ISLAM in a true sense...u can do it when you have the financial and mental ability to do it but is an integral part of ISLAMIC Mariage as it is necessary to tell all ur freinds and family abt ur nikkah...For Nikkah only dates and milk was served and not all freinds and family are necessary,so Nikkah and Walima only valid ISLAMIC RITUALS ,

And yes about the valima u r absolutely right.thy performed all unnecessary rasams or whatevr anyone calls tht but forget the most important celebration in Islamic marriages that is valima..pata hai nahi kuch aur chalay hain drama banane 😕
