Maybe look at it from a different perspective.
It's not about Imraan and Farhan. It's about how many times
she's faced rejection and how many times she tried to pick up the pieces and
move on again but it couldn't happen because there would always be someone
reminding her that she was ugly, dark, didn't deserve anything, etc. She fell
in love with Imraan and had all her dreams attached to him. And then he left
her. For her own sister. But she still tried to be strong and move on.
Nikhat trying to kill herself isn't over Farhan, a guy who
she really doesn't even know yet. She's never been a weak character. She's been
the one who's given courage to Humeira when she wanted to kill herself too. But
she's reached a point where she can't handle it now. She's tired of seeing her
family go through so much for her. Haseena bi is literally looting them, her
parents fight over this, her own brothers have fought over her after Imraan
left her for Najma and now her brothers are giving up who they love for her.
She understands the pain she's inflicted upon others and I think somewhere, she's
really begun to feel that she's inauspicious and responsible for all of this.
She thinks she's a burden and she wants her family to get rid of that burden.
She's depressed. Severely.
Her family has suffered a lot because of her. And Nikhat is
exhausted from all the humiliation now. I'm not saying that she has done the
right thing but she's not weak. She's just exhausted from the emotional turmoil
that she has been through. Suicide is never the answer to any problem but to a
person who's depressed, it may really look like the only option.
I do have problems with this show not showing women doing anything but waiting to get married and romanticizing suicide . Even Zoya in that regard - does she have a career? A job?
