Vidya Balan bags Bobby Jasoos, produced by Dia Mirza-Sahil Sangha

In what could well turn out to be another interesting character portrayal for Vidya Balan, she plays the title role in Bobby Jasoos, to be produced by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha under their banner Born Free Entertainment. "The idea of playing a female detective was irresistible. Also, the movie title intrigued me," says Vidya.
She adds, "I've known Dia and Sahil for years now. They are the kind of producers every actor wants to work with. But the final clincher for me was Sanyuktha Chawla's script and director Samar Shaikh. It kept me hooked and I am really looking forward to working with them."
When asked why she picked Vidya for the part, Dia says, "She was an obvious choice. She is a powerhouse performer who has not been seen in such a space. Also, there are several layers to the character " she's inquisitive, curious, intelligent, an out-of-the-box thinker and quick on her feet " and it just syncs so well with Vidya's personality."
Sahil adds, "Vidya's presence will definitely make the film even more interesting for the audience. Bobby Jasoos is the first of three scripts we have been working on. I'm confident that the next one will follow soon, given our focus on developing pure and entertaining content for a universal audience."
The film goes on floors mid-November and will be ready for a summer 2014 release.
