I find the hindi accents of the hospital staff really contrived.
Sure a few people who speak only Kannada find it difficult to speak Hindi without an accent... but everyone doesn't struggle like that.
In addition, today the trustees speaking like that was comical and a joke. Usually trustees are those with broad exposure and are well-travelled etc. They wont speak Hindi as if they are pure Kannada speakers without exposure to the hindi language whatsoever.
I found it down right offensive.

1st of all why would a hospital staff or doctors in karnataka speak in Hndi? They would speak in Kannada or English.

If the other person knows only hindi, here in our case ganga, they may try speaking in hindi. They do speak Hindi to some extent to help out non-kannada speakers. In bangalore you can survive without knowing kannada. But that could be accented also. Still accent is not right even as kannada accented hindi IMO. These south accents shown in TV is something i have hardly heard😆. I have been in Bangalore and Chennai. All the Doctors may not know Hindi well. But atleast some of them would be knowing. All the doctors speaking wrong accent is well stupid of CVs.

Being a South Indian, I am really irritated with the portrayal of our accent of Hindi. We never speak hindi this way especially in Karnataka. As far as I have seen only few words in Hindi have a slight local accent , but not the whole sentence. Also we have problems with the masculine/feminine in hindi words. Because of the cosmopolitan nature of the region, we southindians speak much better hindi. The portrayal in Balika vadhu is beyond stereotyping and reality. Though I understand that this is work of fiction, I expect atleast a minimum level of reality atleast in this show.
Thank you Sectoreight for bringing up this.

It's just offensive -- it's sort of like Mehmood in the film Padosan, and then everyone takes off from there.

Totally agree! I am not from south india, but this type of sterotyping is offensive. Also why has Ganga changed her uniform and back to Rajasthani dress. One would think she would be too upset to think of changing specially minutes after an attempted rape!

they were not only stereotyping south indians on their accent, but their look too. all the docs and management ppl in yesterday's episode were looking like 'gunda's, dark , fat and thick moustache.
