Would Kareena have been as 'good' a Leela as Deepika?

Well in my opinion even though Kareena was SLB's first choice I don;t see her as a SLB heroine. She lacks the grace, elegance and beauty of SLB heroines. I agree that she is fierce an dsharp but then she easily turns a dramatic secene into a overdone nautanki. She would have looked modern in her look even with rustic makeup...for example Ashoka. She said in in her old interview that everyone thought that I was a white girl.

As for Deepika, she is not the BEST actress around..she is no vidya Balan but she is slowly and steadily trying to be a great actress. 👏This year has proved her ability to go be adventureous enough to go for a Cocktail, Race 2, YJHD and then Chennai Express👏. And now Ramleela has proved that she can be sensual and also act. She has an elegance and geace about her so she cannot do a munni. But I think she does look like a SLB heroine. Ash, Sonam & Deepika have one thing common - Grace.

I am proud of this girl. I just hope that now that she is a nubero uno with 500 crores in one year she would choose films with great scripts. Her accepting Happy NEw Year with SRK to me looks like a decision taken from heart not mind.😆😉

I am amazed by the response's in this topic. It does appear as though folks have a better imagining Kareena as Leela than I do.

I think this is SO hard to judge. Kareena would have been good or bad as Leela? How can we just judge that based on her performances in other movies (with DIFF characters)?!?! I can understand judging Kareena based on a few sequences when she is in the same character. I can't for the life of me tell how Kareena would be if she would be walking around in Leela's shoes.

Prior to Cocktail most would have assumed Deepika wouldn't be fit for this role. Most of us did think she was a wooden plank for a long time.

Its not just about Leela's character its also about Ram-Leela the pairing. The film is not just about Ram or Leela. Ranveer and Deepika scores high majorly because of their pairing and chemistry. Would've fell flat with Kareena even if she performed flawlessly in her individual parts. The major highlight is the pairing of the DP and RS. They bring a lil mystery, intrigue, animalistic and sexual chemistry. Him and Bebo will be a cute pair in probably another setting and another kinda film.

EXACTLY...part of the hype around this movie is the scorching chemistry between Ranveer and Deepika...if Kareena were in this it would end up looking like a serious version of GTPM. Not to demean Kareena in any way she's a great actress and could have pulled the role of BUT not with Ranveer as the lead especially seeing the amazing chemistry these two share in the trailer its hard to imagine anyone else apart from Deepika in this let alone Kareena.

I like what Preity said-we go to a shop try on a pair of jeans don't buy them! someone else does and looks good in them...the clothes belong to that other person!

I think Kareena is one of the better actresses and I'd have liked her to be an SLB heroine..she'd have looked gorgeous! But I like what I've seen in the trailer..

To me, it didn't really look like acting. It looked like two really horny people who haven't had any action in a while 😆

Im sure Ranveer and Deepika are going through their dry spells on that Anushka-Ranbir have moved on (allegedly together too in Vancouver lol)
