BV hell bent on stereotyping urban people?

According to BV, people in cities are "padhe-likhe" gawaar!

First they show callous urban youth during Jagya's college life where Jagya, Gauri and LS were the only sane people while other youth were callous, insensitive (and their influence "ruined" Jagya also!).
They showed as if urban youth had NO inkling of reality of society and rural areas. No sense of culture and no values were a given for city people too.

Pizza is the sign of a kamini urban woman! 😆 🤪 Hence close-ups of pizza and dialogues on it both in Gauri and Sanchi case!

Eating outside, going to watch movies or parties, dressing up even in jeans - all are sign of no culture and being unfit for being a DIL and good wife.

Sheher jaa kar aulaad barbaad hoti hai. Gaon hi best hai!

Urban men are into staying out of home and having premarital sex or extramarital affairs.

Even elder men from cities are perverts and don't have sense of propriety and ettitquette.

Tonight they completed their cycle of stereotyping urban people by even showing a gay fashion designer and almost making a joke of him. 🤢

Did we need this level of stereotyping?!

Okay your show is focused on rural people but why give such a shallow portrayal of cities and city people?! 😲

It is a shame that BV could not balance between different lines of thinking and ways of lifestyle and instead painted one black and other white! 🤢

I completely agree with you. The writers and production house influence so many viewers. They should be trying to break such judgmental stereotypes, not reinforce them. I think they are not changing anandi's look for the same reason- to keep some so called divide between the good girls and bad girls. Nonsense.

Anandi's look won't be changed. After all, good girls do not step outside their houses without a pallu on their heads. And ideal women always wear saris.

"Western" clothes equal to a characterless and promiscous woman.

Educated and professional women are evil, shallow and a shame for the society and family.

Urban families are forever clueless whether their sons and daughters stay out and sleep around (like Shekhars are clueless about Mahi right now!).

The gay fashion designer scene was not needed! 😡 I can't believe a show like BV stereotyped them! 🤢

Agree with u stereotyping issue here. But I don't understand how u say that designer was gay. He was only a effeminate type😕.

But yes its a cliche that many fashion designers are gays because some are. I have seen such things in english movies too. Mostly make up men and fashion designers are shown as gay or effeminate.

Good post. To be fair, theyvalso stereotyped village men as male chauvinists, women as old
Gossips. To some extent all tjis is true. In one of my posts i was just joking when I said Bv has a
Token case of everything. All they are missing is gayscand lesbians. Looks like they heard me.

I agree regarding that designer. If they wanted to raise an issue they should do so in a proper manner and make sure their take on that issue is heard equally loudly.
Today Daddu was making fun of that designer for his mannerisms looks and name finally Alok Shekhar did put a stop saying that he should be judged by his work and not for what he is or his name is.

But what came out loudly was the way Daddu making fun and what did not make an impact was the writers and the makers of the show did not believe in making fun of people.

The way they focused on his neck and feet and the kind of expressions and BGM that were there screamed "stereotype"!

And this is how Indian movies and shows refer to gays.

This effeminate type guy who is either a fashion designer or make up artist!

Just as they don't directly refer to sex, similarly they don't directly refer to sexual orientation but indulge in "hints" like these! 😡

Dialogues later don't make up for what that has been done. Focus on stereotype was longer. Just one or two lines saying we shouldn't make fun - are BS and rather condescending. 🤢
